We will probably never know the exact meaning of Meireles' finger gesture, but if it was born out of frustration at not starting, I don't really blame him because he was one of our best performers last season. It's much better that a player gets angry at being left out, rather than not caring as long as his wages come into his bank account. 🙂

Maybe, but I don't think disrespecting the King like that is acceptable. At all.
I like Ming a lot though, and hope the finger was aimed elsewhwere.

Ming is facing those Arsenal fans behind the goal.
His "gesture" is in that same direction.

Look at the gif, he's not even looking at Lucas until comes up close and embraces him. He's not directing it towards Lucas.
