There are some mitigating factors here:

We have to the point to Rodgers had Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez to select from, and was part of the process in the poor spending following the Suarez sale which has impacted Klopp performance. The one advantage Klopp gave us last year was increased experience in getting to cup finals and therefore restore some prestige at the club whilst compromising premier league performance. However he failed to win either final and has completely disregarded domestic cup competitions this year. So any brownie points he gets from that amounts to fuck all now.

I've little doubt the forum will skew details to point to how things are significantly better under Klopp, but this is a results business and they're looking pretty clear from from that. It's early days, of course, but we need Klopp to be doing a better job if we're to compete in an intensely competitive league.

We're conceding more goals under Klopp then Brendan Rodgers. A man who thought defending was an inconvenience to his coaching. That's worrying.

Yeah having Suarez, Gerrard, sturridge in his prime and sterling definitely papered over the cracks or Rodgers ability. Give klopp those players and I bet you we'd be a lot higher up the table.

This will feed the trolls... Not the same at all in my opinion.

Carra, Suarez, Gerrard, Agger, Reina, a not broken Sturridge etc.

Powerful looking set of stats. But yeh, as said above, you've gotta look at what Klopp has had to work with. Let's see where Klopp is after the same amount of time Brodge had with us.

Also Klopp's first games started off in the middle of a shit season. Rodgers started off with a pre-season and several shiny new signings, a portrait, two envelopes, and being instantly identified as a fool by that piece of shit Sterling. It's incomparable.

What? Agger & Reina didn't really aid Rodgers, and Rodgers bought Sturridge! And Coutinho, who Klopp is now benefitting from.

Agger didnt aid Rodgers huh? What happened when he left...

I don't know, I'd say the retirement of Carragher was more costly. Agger was barely available over his last few seasons with us, and when he did play he barely improved us defensively.

"Extremely misleading"? A comparison over the same number of games at the same stages of their respective Liverpool careers? You do realise that Suarez "carried" Liverpool to 8th, the season before Rodgers joined? You do realise that Suarez became an even bigger influence after we added Sturridge and Coutinho, under Rodgers?

Why is it a stupid post? And I don't see why making a comparison between Rodger's last 54 games is massively more relevant than his first either.

It's fairly common to compare how players and managers and start their careers at a club. I don't recall anyone claiming the "first to 50 goals" record as being stupid and pointless for example.

It wouldn't normally be particularly interesting but those stats are very very close and of course all the caveats and what not apply but that's what discussion is for.

Klopp is still playing with what is essentially Rodgers team and so I'm looking forward to the summer to see how things change.

Without a world class player in the squad I would say Klopps record probably out performs that of Rodgers..

We finished 8th the season before Rodgers took over, WITH Suarez. So he didn't come into a club being carried by a World Class player, no more than Klopp did taking over a club that finished 6th the previous year.

Why does it matter what players they worked with?

Is our squad better when brendan took over to now? Probably not tbh.

And in any case Klopp has had 3 windows to improve the quality and depth...so managers are lucky enough to see 1.

So these comparisons are OK when it's new Utd Managers versus David Moyes but they're meaningless when it's us and includes Klopp? Why?
It's a fair comparison. Both Managers working with teams they'd inherited, some players they'd bought.

Who said the comparisons were fair for any manager?

That's my point stats like these are bullshit.

There are far too many engineers in this room..
Lol - don't think this discussion is for me. But i tell you what.. having Klopp makes it easier to take when the team aint doing well. I know if rodgers was in charge and if we went through the same results i would start to think relegation !!!
