I don't know why anyone would have been surprised? I heard a youtuber talking about the amount of leverage the club was offering him. If it is true, with amount egos in that team,it will implode.

I'm thinking we should break their wrist for the cash. He's been amazing but at some point a dip is coming, it might have started already.
I'm betting on Salah going to the club that misses out on a super signing.
I'd be happy with 70-80 mill.

Not sure if all of this is true, but if so, fucking hell…

No way a good football business person would agree to this.

Far more damaging than him leaving.

I mean, I have only seen him play a wee bit but seems well overrated - but happy to be wrong

3 years as well. Desperate stuff by PSG.

Wrecked the market with the Neymar transfer and now finally putting to bed the argument that no player is bigger than the club once and for all.

The crazy thing is - they didn’t just make one player bigger than the club; I’m pretty sure both Neymar and Messi were promised a similar amount of power and control over every aspect of running the club. So now the power struggle is actually playing out on the pitch - it’s like your board of directors are suddenly also players. Imagine trying to coach the team in this situation!

I think guardiola should give it a go.

It could be said that with PSG and Man City we see two extremes of the state owned club model. PSG decided to let the players run the asylum, with mostly disastrous consequences at least where the CL is concerned. In contrast City gave absolute power to a superstar manager - and ironically City players are often accused of lacking personality and initiative that could be the difference in winning the CL. Somewhere in between would be the sweet spot - you have to say Chelsea under Abramovich were the ones that mostly got it right.

Romano saying similar figures to Ballbag. So it's definitely made up on the financials.

Said we were the third club but weren't willing to go anywhere near £30m salary per year.

Ligue 1 and UEFA looking impotence. €300m a year to 1 player before tax, €900m over 3 years. PSG are no stronger as a result.
Your maths is a bit out. Even by this article it'd be €600m

However its closer to €300m by other sources.
