I think he's a tidy player and intelligent, sometimes quietly efficient. That said, he's on big wages, is knocking on a bit and offers nothing away from home. At best a good squad player, but the above needs weighing up as to whether that makes him worth having on the books.

I remember watching our very patchy performance the other night thinking just what is it Kenny has done that Roy didnt or wasnt doing and then i saw that Agger was back in and passing the ball around, meireles was playing where he should be and was passing the ball around.... I'm not expressing this very well... hold on... Maxi is by no means a flash player and yep you can definitely argue we need more but he is tidy technically good player and very much able to pass and move. I always find it silly to describe a football player as a "good footballer" but he is just that IMO, he reads the game well and I for one think he is a useful player to have.
Sorry to wrap it up in a fog of cliches but... anyway my tuppence worth is that...
I'm just pleased that we seem to be trying to actually PLAY the fucking ball as opposed to hoof it forward to a miserable Torres, the match reports the other night i don't think did the game justice, both teams were a bit off with there passing but the ambition intention of pass and movement was all there on view. I think experienced technically good players like maxi will help us create a good attractive style of play in the long run and with a bit more quality and depth added to the squad we will be a fine team again sooner rather than later.
