Match Day Thread - Belgium Vs Japan.

First non-England World Cup game I've watched. Well, I watched most of the second half anyway.

Really enjoyable, but at no point did I think Japan were safe.

Martinez made two inspired substitutions, but it seems as if he is capable of taking several of the world's best defenders and a top-rated goalkeeper, and making them play like Everton. They were hapless at times.

Fellaini seems to have carved a niche for coming on in the second half of games and causing absolute fucking havoc. He did it against us last season too.

What was on show is Belgium's Plan A and Plan B. Plan A - is to play a soft centred dynamic midfield, plan B is to play a hard cuntish midfield with Fellaini in the middle - Plan B is what England faced the other night because they know they can only play Plan A against what they think is weaker opposition. What Japan played was not too different to the style we play at Liverpool with that level of pressing - except Japan keep the ball much better.

Even when Japan were 2-0 up there was plenty of time for Belgium to come back and Japan should have taken any small chances they had to put the game out of sight - the ref got one of the decisions badly wrong with the linesman when Kompany fell on his arse in a dangerous position and for some fucking strange reason was given a free kick when Japan should have been allowed to play. Overall this game reminded me of a Sampras vs Agassi match at Wimbledon - Agassi matching Sampras and leveling the game and then Sampras wins easy by hitting his aces with Agassi unable to return - Belgium had to many aces to lose this game.

Belgium have a score to settle with Brazil - the last time they met in 2002 - Belgium were denied some clear cut decisions by the ref, Brazil should not have won that game but they did with all the decisions going in their favour - it was unjust. This time I really don't think Brazil have much of a chance.

I don't agree. I think they'll win.
