I'd forgotten about this ridiculously stupid thread.
[/quote]

it's a good thread.

next summer it is, then.

and there'll be a thread on whether Lucas can "step into the void."

ha ha ha

It's all just a big joke to you, isn't it? I think you need to start taking yourself a little more seriously.

Its good by your standards, yes. But I also stand by my previous statement.

i have high standards.

according to that article masch and alonso are similar. let me see, well they both speak spanish and they both play in midfield but then i start to struggle.

i liked what i saw of him the last few pre season games, he's passing seems to have really improved.

I like what I have seen from mascher during pre-season, his passing range is underrated and he was spanking some Xabiesque passes during the games - love the guy to bits and hope he has a fantastic season - there is a lot of responsibility on his shoulders this season.

Speaking about the saga, Benitez said: "Javier has a very good friend in the national team and that is Messi.

"Messi was on to him every day and that is not easy, but Javier knows what we think of him and he will be okay."

Now that Mascherano has opted to stay, Benitez is expected to work out a new contract for the player, who had appeared to fall out of love with life in England in the light of Barca’s interest.

Benitez added: "I talked with Javier, his agent and Barca. It is normal they see him as such a good player, and an option for them.

"We told Javier he was so important for us and we wanted to keep him. We were not talking about any price.

"He was a bit disappointed as it was a fantastic opportunity with a big club. But he is happy here, and as a player and a person you can trust him 100%."

What the fuck are we then?

I don't see why there's so much anger with Masher.

Barca are a big club, in fairness..and the words are uttered by Rafa, not Masher.

It's not surprising he'd be interested in an approach from them, but the crucial thing to me is that 'he's opted to stay'.

He's chosen us over Barca, which is one better than Xabi.

i can't be arsed watching him in a liverpool shirt next season. i hope someone bids an appropriate amount of money for him.

Oh fuck off......he means more to the team now than ever after losing Xabi and gaining a more attacking central midfielder. I suppose you'd prefer Lucas or Plesis anchoring the midfield this season....coz one things for sure, Stevies not leaving his boyfriend up front.

I think that's really naive.

Had Barcelona stumped up the cash he wouldn't been gone. Rafa said he was "disappointed", which doesn't sound like a man who "opted to stay". There's no loyalty there.

The fact is they blew all their budget on landing Ibro.

I've allready started to expand my scouting network, in order to help find us a replacement next season.

Hopefully he has a superb season so that we can get an extra £10mil for him next summer.

i'd prefer we bought a replacement or 2 with the 30 mill he'd fetch........ about 2 months ago.

nah, i'm glad he's staying for another season cos we need the continuity but i have no love for him anymore.

i don't think utd gave a fuck with ronaldo wanting to go BUT they squeezed out a few league titles and success in the champions league before selling him. we should sell masch in a similar manner. an easy 40 million plus next season or the season after on our terms.

we're being naive if we think every player who plays for us wants to stay with us forever. i'm confident that rafa can deal with this in a cold and very calculating manner.

"An easy £40M"?

I agree with the general tone, but I'd be very surprised if Masher ever fetched over £30M.

40 million euros (a little under £35 mill.) isn't impossible though. Depends how badly Barca or whoever want him.

He's in the top 2 players in his position and he's still quite young, so I'd personally expect us to get £30mil+ for him.

Anything we did get would be taken by the 2 shitbags anyway, we'll be helping them to pay for the club they "bought" for the next half decade should they stay.

All this wailing and moaning at the referee everytime we get or don't get a free-kick that was dubbed as 'passion' 2 years ago, is now just fucking annoying.

Just shut up and get on with it.
