He also got sent off needlessly against them

i'm not going to wistfully remember him. He fucked us over and is in the past. Yes he played well, but i'm not going to watch videos of a player who played well for us yet couldn't be arsed standing up to his mrs

if you believe the excuse

Remember his performance against Arsenal a couple of seasons back. Incredible.

I do. I also remember him watching stop and let Tevez stroll past him 30 yards from goal to put United 1-0 at the Kop end.

Lots of players make mistakes, Mascherano constantly made great performances, I still feel we havent replaced him properly.

Yeah I know, I'm just stoking the fire.

I never liked him mind.

😀

I remember you filling an entire thread in debating that with others who wouldn't hear of it.

I'd take him, Torres and Alonso back without question.

If they apologised for leaving I'd forgive them too.

And if they said something like "we really regret having gone, this place is in our hearts, we were all stupid" then I could find my way to loving them again.

It could never be the same, of course, but in time everything would be pretty fine, and it would almost be as though nothing had happened.

Although sometimes after a few glasses of wine I'd probably cry and throw things.

Torres, Alonso and Mascherano are gone forever and we should just accept that.
Can we just move on. We've got two exciting player in Suarez and Carroll now.
Hopefully in the summer we'll get more quality players in to fill the void Alonso and rest created.

In light of Man U getting their 19th title I'm really not in the mood to reminisce about the past and contemplate the what if's.
Apologies in advance.

This.
Although given all the shite that was flying around at that time and his assertion it was not like that, I will give him the benefit of the doubt over that, but not his empty excuses for moving on.
I loved him
I miss him
I would take him back in a blink

Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano has expressed his gratitude toward teammate Lionel Messi for recommending him to join the Catalans in the summer of 2010. The Argentina international left Liverpool for the Camp Nou club last year and won La Liga and the Champions League in his first season with Barca.

"My relationship with Leo is spectacular. I'll be grateful for the rest of my life that he recommended me to join Barcelona," Mascherano was quoted as saying by Marca.

The 27-year-old then went on to discuss his position as defender at Barcelona and voiced his satisfaction with being part of the Spanish champions.

"The coach believed in me as center-back and I try to do the best I can," said Mascherano. "With the support of the coach, everything is easier. I feel proud to be part of a group that never gets tired of winning. I've never been at a team like this."

Mascherano has a contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2014.

Who cares about him. He wants to satisfy his new masters.
If Barcelona keep using him as a CB they're going to suffer because he's not a CB. Would be interesting to see how their defense performs w/o the injured Pique.
