Ox in the box.Chamberlain on the score sheet.
Good call.Well, 0-4 is a dangerous scoreline. we really need 7 to be safe.
TAA shoots like Gerrard.
Had the same thought. He should do this more often.
WTF happened to Sevilla? Did they go down to 9 men or something? Spartak were utter shite against us. A good result for us in terms of finishing first, but not so good in terms of qualifying early.
Reckon he will have plenty of chances to in future. Don't think he will stay as a right-back for too long. He's showing more composure for the central midfielder slot than Ox is at the moment.
Clearly they didn't defend the counter attack potential of Spartak as well as we did in the last game. They had 62% possession, 16 shots on goal compared to 13 for Moscow. Just one of those Liverpool-esque days.
It's going to take time and a lot more clueless looking displays to untrain his bad habit. I don't think we can judge guy until he gets a good pre-season behind him (I see the next is a World Cup year, urgh).Ox looks totally lost at the moment, despite the goal – if he doesn't improve soon, I'm afraid it's going to be back to the WB role for him as he's hardly proving himself capable as wing-forward or CM.
Unfortunately that won't happen but I'd agree , he is so much more progressive than the other three.Loved Milners performance today. Maybe the opposition made it a bit easier for our players but to Milner seems to be the solution for our static midfield. I'd start him against Spurs. Third spot is between Wijnaldum and Henderson atm.
We miss Lucas.
Have second look at Alexander-Arnold's goal.
Did you notice how he positioned himself before the pass, controlled the ball with one touch and how he hit it?
That's not a defender, that's a midfielder.
Controlled aggression is something Trent has, which is a bonus. You're hardly the first to say it mate, a fair few people within the club have said the same thing, he's not playing in the position he'll end up in.
However, he's not ready to play in midfield regularly yet, he's not Steven Gerrard, & he had much more accomplished players protecting & covering him from the front & behind to mitigate the issues having a young midfielder causes, when he was bedded in, & that wasn't seamless, despite his immense talent, aggression (which TAA doesn't have the same level of) & immediate impact.
Because it's his natural position?I don't get the obsession with people wanting to move TAA into midfield.
