Hang on a second, it was issue 39! The year the war started! The plot thickens!

Seriously? Of course it's deliberate. Just like that London Olympics one was.

Whichever design guy planted the idea definitely knew.
This. There is no way in hell whoever designed that didn't draw inspiration from Nazi aesthetics.

Red, black, white, New Order, that logo, those haircuts even... Someone who tries to design stuff for a living doesn't come up with that combination by accident.

I don't find it offensive though, you see it all the time.

Me? A Nazi?? But ich bin ein Mancunian! "Come on Davey Moyes! Girls grab your gentiles - boys! - Ve go wild wild wild...und so on". I really am Mancunian! Wait, wait, look, I can walk like a monkey...

I can't tell if you & Mo are being serious ... Have I become too soft in my old age?

Woah, hold up. I wasn't suggesting the guy leaned that way.

I'm saying he did it for a laugh. Every day, there's a designer somewhere being being told something like "That kinda looks like a penis" and responding with "Oh shit, you're right, it kinda does. I'll change that bit."

Every once in a while, it slips passed everyone and we get something like this.

** I say guy and he above, not because I don't think this couldn't have been the work of a woman, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't.

I'm not saying the designer is a Nazi. But it is definitely deliberate, and he probably thought he was being very subtle and clever. Like you say, he probably did it for a laugh, a in-joke amongst his designer buddies.
