Manchester City winning the league

How would people feel about this? Angry? Disgusted? Amicable? Happy?

It's looking likely (unless Chelsea sort there shit out) that we're going to have another Manchester title, it's becoming a case of which side of the city will grab it. In a straight up contest I think all of us would want City to win it, one, because united wouldn't be winning it, two, because it would piss united right off. However should we be happy at this outcome? More so than with the Chelsea saga it would completely prove that money can buy success, would that be too hard to swallow? Or would the fact that they're a club with a rich history, be enough?

Personally, I'd be happier if Chelsea won it, but wouldn't mind if City did. As long as United or Tottenham don't win the league, I don't really care. Our time will come in the next 3 years, I can wait a season or two more.

Re: Manchester City winnnig the league

Empty.

The problem is that once they win it the first time there will be no stopping them (providing their owners don't get bored and bugger off)

Re: Manchester City winnnig the league

it's completely inevitable they're gonna win it soon but i'm not sure this season. i normally don't go for this kind of argument but i really think there's a massive ego clash in the wings. too many good players not gonna play.

Re: Manchester City winnnig the league

can't call the fans glory hunters, not with the numbers they were still pulling in in division 2.
rather them than manu or chelsea.

Re: Manchester City winnnig the league

If we don't win it this season, i have no problem in them keeping it warm for us.

I'll 'This' too

It all makes sense if Citeh win. I might be able to stop watching and do something more useful with my weekends.

Maybe Newcastle will nick it and surprise everyone. They've brought in some decent players thanks to the money we splashed out on Carroll.

I said that when Roman took over Chelsea though, they won it & I carried on. It's like fucking crack. I need a better addiction before I can move on I think.

I'll be fucking chuffed if Citeh beat Manure next week. But 8 points is already looking ominous innit.

Funny thing is they're not selling out now (Once again there were loads of empty seats this weekend).

I don't have a problem if Citeh wins the league but i have a problem if we don't finish top 4 this season.

Meh,

who cares the league is all about who has the most money.

F*ck it I'd love to see Newcastle win it if we can't.

Football is becoming very very boring.

Their owners are going nowhere. They're spending £150M+ on an amazing youth complex site for the club. City are going to be a dominant force for the next 10 years +

Me this 'too' - its like letting someone sleep with your wife because there is little threat that she may fall in love with him.

I know Citeh won't win it (even though it seems . . . inevitable) purely because I hate the idea that an infinite amount of money can buy you a premier league winning team.

Of course, I also knew that I should sell my apple stock when theit was trading at $25.

I've some sympathy for them. He and they need a change from each other, and he's not going anywhere.

I don't begrudge the fans any success because they're generally a good bunch.

I do struggle with the idea that it's just been bought though.

It's utterly embarrassing.

They'll be shouting "BEHIND YOU !!!" en masse, next.

Suppose it'd be sad in one sense, but the overriding feeling for me would be 'thank fuck the scum haven't won it again'

I've never really had a problem with Man City as a Club to be honest.

Er, but a lot of Pool fans refer to Man U as the Mancs, or the Scum. Whereas City are just 'City' or 'Citeh'.

Anyhow, i've changed it now to avoid you being confused as to which team i'm referring to.

I was referring to the fact that Manc fans are usually people not from Manchester, whereas Citeh fans are probably true Mancs. Guess it went over your head. Soz.

This is how I feel. Got a good mate who's a Citeh fan and, although he's got little cocky with it, he has supported them through thick and thin with a smile on his face. In fact, he still thinks they're bound to cock it up in one way or another. We've had discussions obviously on the buying the league subject and his response is generally well Liverpool used to be the club with the most money. To which my response is two fold. Yeh we had money but there's wasn't the same riches gap there is with City and other clubs and we did have to compete for players. Plus the money we had was earned not given to us by some uber-rich sugar daddy out to bend the rules in any way they can to buy a significant competitive advantage. To which he generally has no response.
