Dmishra - One day you're gonna have to put Lucas in there...

I have once already. Albeit grudgingly. Spearing was better than him today.

Kuyt,
Johnson,
Lucas,

Suarez did got a goal and assist but he was quite enough by his usual high standards. Isn't it great, he's only been here a few months and we have a new hero.

x2

and next week, I'll even be ok with writing Drogba if he scores the winner.

Good grief, yes. It's a dangerous principle in politics, but in football my enemy's enemy is my friend.

Your blind-spot for Spearing is as noticeable as others' denigration of Lucas. Because you've championed Lucas, you, probably unconsciously, can't give Spearing credit.

It's a mistake to get entrenched in one's opinion about a player. Lucas has vastly improved. He has obviously worked hard on his game. He is stronger and his tackling is better. So last season he may have deserved criticism but this season he doesn't.

His passing has improved too.

Nope.

Spearing played ok, and has done for a few weeks now. Credit where it's due, he's been better than I thought, and I agreed with Rosco (I think) yesterday that he's flourishing under Dalglish's tactics. Good on him to be honest.

No issue here at all.

I was just pointing out that Lucas was better, which is true.

As highlights in The Guardian's Chalkboard analysis: Lucas made 9 tackles on Sunday and won all of them.
