I didn't think that Carroll's all round game was that great, but scored two great goals.

Flanagan enjoyed a great debut, but that performance wouldn't have been enough to get a senior player into the top three. He wasn't really tested and generally played it safe.

i just loved the fact all game he was outmuscled by dzeko then right at the end he pretty much dived in to his back when they both went for a header.

And even though balotelli is a shit lazy cockend, flano didn't let the situation overawe him. I enjoyed his composure

Not for me. Suarez was the outstanding player on the pitch that day by some distance IMO, Kuyt's hat-trick notwithstanding and well though we played overall. Like refugee I've found this game far harder to call, but here goes:

1. Kuyt, only marginally ahead of
2. Carroll
3. Spearing

Flanagan, Carra and Suarez all came close too.
 
Tough call this but I'll give it to Carroll for taking his first two Anfield goals with style. What a striker he'll be for us.

Could easily have been a few of the others though, especially Suarez, Flanagan and Skrtel.
 
This is a tough one to call for all the right seasons ;D

1. Kuyt - tireless workrate and did it with quality
2. Carroll - 2 goal awesomeness
3. Flanagan - his first kick of the ball went west but once he settled down he had an excellent game. Deserves a mention for showing some balls alone

Everyone deserved a MOTM nomination

Well done Rafa, the only one apart from your truly to find a slot for Carra.
He marshalled the defence, looked after Flanagan, drove the team on and put himself in where it hurt. Life in the old dog yet.

Flanagan......what a debut
Carra, played great and was barking out instructions to his defense all night.
Meireles, a real intelegent player
Aurilio, having a ball player at left back certainly helps our cause
Suarez, really good hard working performance. Was hungry for and deserved a goal.
Reina, made a great save when called upon that one time
Skrtel, looks a better defender with Carra along side him.
Lucas, eh.....quietly effective.
