Agree about Lucas. He also had a fantastic game, but just misses out.

Honourable mentions to both full backs too.

Firmino showed some signs of why some are excited about him. He's very aware, his first touch is impeccable, and he's pretty aggressive. That said I'm surprised you thought he was brilliant.

He also conceded possession too much by dawdling on the dribble, or by over elaborating. He was also invisible when Arsenal were dominating (may have just tired), and he left Clyne alone in some dangerous situations. If he was even more productive, and he easily could be as he gains confidence and an understanding of the team, then his lack of impact off the ball will be far less important. If that doesn't happen, he needs more discipline.

I've always been in his corner and he came pretty close to my top three, but it continues to worry me that so many of his tackles seem to be made (albeit effectively) at the last moment. If one test of a player (esp.a defender) is how much time he seems to have to get the job done, Skrtel wouldn't pass it as often as his ability probably deserves.

Yeah I agree, he did have a few flaws Monday night, but so did some of the other guys getting nominated, especially in the 2nd half. For example Milner and Can were guilty of giving the ball away a couple of times and Lucas made a couple of passes that Milner had to really stretch to get to. But like Milner and Lucas, I thought Firmino did more enough to play his part in an overall top team display.
