I haven't seen anyone mention it, but apart from missing a sitter at 2-0, I thought Toure was an absolute boss today. I've never seen a CB that covers so much of the pitch.

He was excellent, and didn't seem to have any trouble celebrating with the goalscorers over hammering his old team either. 🙂

Difficult to leave out Coutinho, Henderson, Sturridge and Suarez the Great, who created 2 most magical football moments in this game without scoring. Flanagan and Toure also played very well.

If we were doing ratings, basically every player bar Cissokho and Mignolet (who had nothing to do all game, bar one good save) would get at least an "8/10."

I even loved Cissokho getting right up in Wilshires grill... this is a LOAN player who none of really rate showing more determination than a good number of our players have in the last 4 or 5 years at times...

Quite amazing that despite the season he's had, Sturridge hasn't made it into the top three, even being surpassed by Sterling, who started getting back into the team only in December. Also Skrtel at #3 is a shock. I'm not one of his haters, but I don't know if I can recall him having 11 games where he'd have been one of my top 3 players (maybe I did vote that way too). Given the way we've been playing, excelling in attack and dodgy in defence, I'd have expected defenders to place lower than that.

In contrast, Sturridge has only been voted into the top 3 7 times, while Suarez's 14 top 3 placings is also on the low side to me.
