Im quite surprised so many had Skrtel top 3. He was great but his poor clearance cost us a goal.
The front 3 were mesmerising.

It didn't really cost us a goal, it was one clearance out of a shitload he made throughout the game. His clearance went about 40-50 yards from goal. Aguero was then tracked by Lucas for a good 15 yards before letting fly with a World Class finish, it happens. Milner's back pass was worse but he got away with it.

It was an awful clearance.
And for the record Milner wouldnt make my top 3 either off the back of that howler.
And neither would Lucas for failing to cut out the shot.

Im not having a dig, he was EXCELLENT, but not top 3 for me.

BTW this goal would never have happened had Lucas not gotten a yellow card a few minutes before that. Otherwise he would definitely scythe Aguero down and get his customary yellow – and maybe a couple of complains from fans for giving away a "needless" free-kick. Which would have been much better than allowing Aguero to shoot from that angle and distance.

Klopp defended Ming on the goal, but for me he's still the main culprit not only with his needless pass to Clyne under pressure, but also his positioning for Aguero's shot. A really top-class GK should have anticipated a strike in the far corner and made one small step to the left – that would have been enough to parry the shot. Can is also guilty of a completely needless back-pass back to Mignolet, which started the whole sequence.

To be honest I can't remember a right lot about Can's overall game but that back heel gets him in the top 3. Coutinho was a cut above everyone else on the pitch. Firmino was great too.

Everyone played well, a few individual mistakes led to the goal and if the front line weren't so ace that could have cost us, but it didn't, and that was our best performance since Suarez left.

Finally watched the complete game. I will be a bit more harsh on Firmino than most of you – I think if you score only 1 out of 5 clear chances then it's simply not good finishing and on another day we could have been punished for it. So even though Firmino did a lot of very good things in this game (particularly the opportunistic run and FANTASTIC pass to Coutinho for the goal), he just misses out on my top 3.

Honorable mentions can go to almost anyone in the team. I thought Milner made a big contribution defensively; too bad nothing was going his way in attack. I liked Lovren's performance too, he surprised me as did Moreno with his uncharacteristic calmness and composure. I think we are starting to see the "Klopp effect" – basically his coaching and tactics add 10-20% in performance to most of the players he works with (but when those players move on to another team, they usually are not able to sustain the same level – see Kagawa, Sahin, Gotze and others).

The forwards are really mobile, esp for Firmino's close effort in 1st half. Haven't seen any highlights for Benteke but he often seems to wait for the ball to reach him.. and that could be the undoing of his overall game.

Lallana has that gift of unpredictability which is great for penetrating strong Premier League defences.

Strongly endorse those last two posts. That's the essence of Lallana - he's not necessarily going to go out there and win you games on his own but, at top Prem level, small margins count and Lallana can make that difference to turn a chance into a goal. He's also harder-working than some give him credit for, so when he's on his game he often gets himself into positions where he can make that kind of contribution.

Things like that are assist worthy IMO but never get any credit. His dummy through the legs the other week for one of our goals was also similar.
