I'm a massive massive Coutinho fan but I thought he was largely rubbish in the game.
But hey ho, arguing over who deserves motm is a great feeling and sure beats arguing who was the least shit

Firmino deserves a mention. He was our best attacking player until he went off. He holds onto the ball so much better than Coutinho and is much better suited to the middle of the field.

Yeah, he did a lot of good things but after 55 minutes or so he looked completely shattered physically – not surprisingly.

I thought Lucas and Coutinho had polar opposite games. I thought Lucas was absolute boss, in this game he played like a playmaker as well as the destroyer – he really made me go "wow!" several times in the game, which is not what you could usually say about Lucas. In contrast Coutinho kept giving the ball away – but he won the game for us with two moments of magic.

And just as Coutinho had 2 episodes that redeemed otherwise unremarkable performance, Lucas had 2 or 3 episodes that marred a great performance. Had Clattenburg sent him off at 1:1 (as he should have), we might not have won this game.

Honorable mentions can go to almost anyone – Moreno made a few important defensive interventions, Sakho was solid again, Lallana was lively, Benteke made a difference.
