Over 22,600 MARCA.com readers have weighed in on the debate as to who should lead the Atlético de Madrid strikeforce next season, with Jackson Martínez the supporters' pick to step into the shoes of Radamel Falcao.
Like 'El Tigre', Jackson is Colombian and would come to Madrid via Porto, having joined the Portuguese outfit from Mexican side Jaguares a year ago. He enjoyed a truly thrilling debut year in Portugal, scoring 26 times in the league – ironically, one more than Falcao himself managed in his first campaign at the 'Dragons'. These credentials earned him 27% of the votes in our poll.
Next up in the fans' sights are Edinson Cavani and Álvaro Negredo, Napoli's Uruguayan marksman polling almost 24% and Sevilla's Spanish sharpshooter netting 18% of the votes.
Fourth on the list is another Uruguayan, Liverpool's Luis Suárez, whom only 13% of Atlético fans want to see at the club. This is a surprisingly low figure, although the fact that cross-city rival Real Madrid has been heavily linked with Suárez could have something to do with it.
Two other Premier League operators, Aston Villa's Christian Benteke and Manchester City's Edin Dzeko, came next in the poll.
Finally, bottom of the pile is Roberto Soldado. The Valencia striker was one of the top goalscorers in 'La Liga' this past campaign, but that doesn't seem to have convinced the Atleti fans, with only 3.7% voting in his favour.
