Woohoo!

Lucas Leiva is keen to leave Liverpool when the transfer window re-opens in January.
The Brazilian midfielder is out of favour at Anfield and came close to linking up with former boss Rafael Benitez at Napoli during the summer.
Leiva has made just two Premier League starts this season and is yet to play a full 90 minutes in the league this season.

And the 27-year-old, who moved to Anfield from Brazilian side Gremio in 2007, is weighing up his options after becoming frustrated with a lack of playing time.
He told Radio Marca: “I’m not speaking to anyone at the moment because I’m under contract, but I am looking around, given I am not playing.
“There was contact with Napoli last summer, but the parties didn’t reach a satisfactory agreement. It’s true that Benitez has always held me in high esteem.”

Wish him the best, always tried his best, never complained, and offered a lot at times. It's time he left though, he's no use to us anymore.

Is the right answer until the last few words ... Of course he could play a role for us, I just don't know if it's at the level we need/want.

We would be better defensively with Lucas in the team.
Mr Rodgers has a blind spot.

I honestly agree with Modo. Agger, Reina and Lucas would be an improvement on Mignolet, Skrtel and Gerrard

Also in agreement here. Lucas is our best DM - that he isn't playing when that is such a clear gap in the team is criminal.

Well yeah. I think we should be aiming for better than he's showed recently. He's not being played where he plays best, which doesn't help. But Rodgers doesn't seem to want to use him like that, so best for everyone if he went.

Relax...Can will be aces against Hull and no one will ever speak about Lucas after that.

I think Can, Lovren and Lallana are all well capable of proving valuable additions to our starting eleven.

Im sitting on the fence where Markovic and Balo or concerned, but leaning more towards writing off Balo.

But there is no escaping the fact that we could have done a whole lot better with our transfer activities.

Ibe should have been here. We spent the money on probably inferior players and forced ourselves into considering sending Ibe out for more playing time.

Rodgers needs to realize what really worked for him last season. Its the coming of age of Sterling and Henderson that propelled it to a great season. Suarez upped his game a bit, yes, but he has had equally good seasons where we finished 7th.

I don't like the idea of sticking Can in the holding role, he seems a very natural, physical box to box player in the making.

Agreed, I think we still need to buy a DM cause Allen is not physically imposing enough to develop into one.

Gerrard would be my striker until Sturridge is back. Midfield would be Allen, Hendo, Can until we can replace Allen. Sterling and Coutinho/Lallana on the wings.

We need to replace Lucas with a top quality, ball playing defensive midfielder, than signing along could completely transform us.

Lucas's tendency to give away free-kicks on the edge of the box could have led to a couple more goals for Ronaldo yesterday. In hindsight I still wouldn't have played him.

I agree. He lacks the mobility and agility to stem the tide in a team like ours and therefore on balance the team loses more than it gains.

Even his fans surely recognize that he's declined in recent times. It's time for everyone to finally move on.

He joined Bayern in the summer.

Alonso has never been a DM, hes not fast or physical enough to play that role. He wasnt a DM for us or Real and I seriously doubt Guardiola will make him one at the age of 32 with his legs going

He wasnt a DM for us

Yes he was, we played with two defensive midfielders under Rafa, everyone and their cat used to moan about it. We don't need Linford Christie at DM, we need a clever footballer who can play the position, thats Alonso.

I was a big fan of Lucas during his Wonderman days. Allen and Henderson are better than him IF Gerrard is playing DM. Lucas has been a great servant to this club. He seemed to be popular around the dressing room and helped a lot of the South American's settle I wish him well.

There's obviously no good defensive midfielders, amongst the millions of professional footballers in the world. Just Luke from Bedford, no one else, anywhere.

No he wasnt, he sat deep but he always had an out and out defensive mid like Didi or Mascher beside him to cover the ground and track the runners, that was in his mid 20s and hes slowed considerably since then, now we would need to completely alter the midfield to accommodate him and still be short a dedicated DM

You never saw him play in midfield with Stevie G? Watch the first half of the CL final.
