Good 1st half but the whole team had a decent 1st half but he tired badly in the 2nd and still gives away needless free kicks in dangerous spots.
1 game, 1 start.
That must have surprised you given how little he's going to play this season eh?

Yep, I don't quite get this view of Pat's. I reckon Lucas is one of the first names on the team sheet.
I dunno, but I definitely can't take Skullflower as seriously any more.
My jaw feels totally safe
Lucas was superb yesterday, everyone keeps going on about our need for some super human destroyer at midfield, but it's ridiculous. Man U started with Carrick and Cleverly, Chelsea started with Ramires and Lampard, they did alright didn't they?
Lucas was excellent in the first half but was a fair bit less than excellent as the game went on, and those other teams have more quality ahead of their sitting midfielders than we have. When we're as good as they are overall, we can afford to take the same approach. Until then we need that extra stiffening at DM. I'm not in a tearing hurry to replace Lucas, but we're going to need better than him in that position to win things.
If we ever meet i reckon we'd 69.There is no DM in the world that stiffens me more than Lucas Leiva does.
Is it just me or has @Time for a song and dance gone on a mental posting spree since he 'acquired' his new avatar...
No. And dont start one of these witchhunts you bell piece.Did a former poster do a name change or something?

We're doing it sideways man, I dont want your balls laying in my eye sockets.Dibs on 9!

I wouldn't be surprised if @Time for a song and dance is American.
This bit is getting old man.
I wonder was Lucas's lesser second half performance related to the change in formation,
We went from 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3 and it looked liked there was more space between the midfield and the front three in the second half than the first.
I wonder if this extra space was exploited by the Stoke midfield three allowing them to control the centre somewhat and in doing so made Lucas look less accomplished
