The money talked about is a lot, given nobody has ever heard or seen him. It feels like a bit of relief, TBH.

Let's hope he isn't brilliant.

Hahaha. "Desperate" for a move to Liverpool. Anywhere more like..

Well to be fair there are no direct quotes from Remy or his agent on any Arsenal preference whilst there are plenty of DIRECT quotes on his preference for Liverpool.

seem pretty direct to me but at the same time who cares? arsenal won't be making a move for him so if we wanted to make a move for him we could make him ours just like both kuyt & babel who showed their love for Arsenal but became our players.

Ha ha - well that's pretty unequivocal isn't it ! Don't know how I missed that !

IMO the only decent striker we signed who originated from the French league was Anelka, and ironically Houllier got rid of him for no good reason.

Kuyt couldn't be less of a Winger player if he tried.

Alou Diarra was pretty good; he never played for us, and we still made a profit.

Plus he came from Bayern on a free and then we sold him to France for a profit.

Eloquently put as usual, old boy. 🙂

Remy, who has been hailed as the new Thierry Henry, flew into England on Thursday to begin negotiations with the Potters and is also expected to hold talks with Liverpool and West Ham United.

But Stoke are in the driving seat and have agreed a fee of around £10 million for the 23-year-old Frenchman, who scored 15 goals in 33 appearances last season, with Rennes also interested.

Nice general manager Patrick Governatori told L'Equipe: "If the Liverpool trail has been abandoned and the West Ham one has clearly got colder, Stoke should get into position. And Rennes are still remaining."

Remy was filmed by a TV news crew signing shirts for Stoke City fans at the Britannia Stadium on Thursday afternoon but the striker, flanked by his agent, said no deal had yet been completed.

Having established Stoke in the Premier League, manager Tony Pulis is looking to move the club forward and the capture of Remy would be a step in the right direction.

Stoke chairman Peter Coates and coach Mark O'Connor watched Remy, who has been named in the French squad for next week's game against Norway, playing for Nice in a friendly last week.
