Debut to Robertson, playing alongside Klavan. Gomez gets a first competitive start in two years. Milner gets a first midfield start since I don't know when. Firmino out wide. Henderson plays a third game in a week when he has a condition that gets worse with repeatedly exertion. Alexander-Arnold and Grujic don't even make the bench.

Eek.

We are in for a Benitez season where rotation becomes a constant question. I hope we do better this time around though.

Wow. Wasn't expecting anywhere near that lineup. This is braver than the time Apple removed the headphone jack.

Think it will be:

Ming
Gomez Matip Klavan Robertson
Gini Hendo
Mane Firmino Milner
Studge

I don't undrstand the need to rotate so many in the same game. We already struggle against shit opposition. Would rather replace 1-2 positions every game than field "strong" and "weak" sides.

4-2-3-1 is the correct formation to play. We'll look better for it.

Robertson for Moreno should also certainly be an upgrade.

Having said that, Klavan for Lovren is a step down, and I'm not convinced with Gomez either.

If they don't fuck up, I think our overall play will be more fluid than our two previous games.

Milner is a very intelligent player - I'm glad he's there. He's actually quite underrated in that third midfielder's role.

We should probably be expecting more of such rotations whenever there are midweek games (unless the options get depleted cos of injuries, that is).

Nah - I'm all for a bit chop and change. Let's bring it on. Brace for Studge and a consolation for Benteke. Get your bets in lads.

I'm fine with the changes. Playing 433 without Coutinho, Lallana and a tired combo of Salah and Mane doesn't make any sense.

Robertson can't be worse than Moreno.

Milner looked good in the middle.

Sturridge and Mane together.

Palace got bummed by Huddlesfield

It'll be fine. More than fine. We're going to win.
