This team has achieved success despite an obvious hole in midfield that is shaped very much like me... What a mistake I've made.

Very brave lineup by Klopp though. Williams and Jones both started at the same time could leave us a little to light defensively. Gomez needs to use his brains more when he's defending and our midfield should not expect defence to sort itself out. We have to really defend like a team, so far we aren't doing so and lacking in leadership in defence is telling.

Front 3, what's Fimino been doing lately? He was the glue, was the playmaker and was the one that creates opening for Mane and Salah. That was previous seasons, not this one. What's going on with him, where was his pressing to force the defenders to make an error? Not good.

• Like everyone else said, we move the ball too slowly. Nothing do with personnel, just the whole team needs to up the urgency.
• Phillips untroubled and won all the headers, Gomez with the only defensive mistake of the half. Nothing Alli could do for the goal.
• Fornals is a snide little shit and of course he happened to score. But have to say, Declan Rice has been flawless.
• Jones looked a fish out of water at RCM, far better when he switched to the left. Small details, but big difference.
• Sadio with his quietest game of the season so far.

No need for drastic changes at half-time, tell the players to pass the ball quicker and help Jones to get more in the game. West Ham are making it difficult, but we can win this.

I have also noticed the change in Firmino’s pressing and that is a big part of what makes his and our game work.

This where Jota’s presence has been really noticeable.
