If you take into account both teams are equally capable of denying us a spot in the top 4, 4 points denied is better than 3.

Not fussed though, we did the business so it's a great weekend regardless.

Fcuking hell, Salah could have had a hattrick.

Oh, was that man-marking for the Emre Can goal 🙄

@KopRed I see your point.

Noone expected Salah to be this good. We really can trust the manager's sense of players.

OVerall, look at the passing, footwork, flow and intensity of this team going forward. It's incredible to think back to when Riera and Jovanovic were our flair signings.
Except I am fairly sure that Klopp said himself that he had to be convinced by other members of the transfer committee or whatever it's called these days to sign Salah and he didn't anticipate him being as good as he is.
Unless of course Klopp was being modest and wanted to share the credit

We won well and I'm dead happy with stuff etc but I remain pissed off with some of the players. Matip improved 2nd half but he was fucking bollocks first. And Can, despite the goal, can fuck off. He's shite. Lovren should start above Matip. Can has so much to offer but does so many stupid things... Can't wait for Keita.

Four goals, four different scorers, above the scum, great stuff.

He is a LOT more assured with a decent, instructional defender in front of him

Does it make you wonder what Mignolet would look like with the same benefit though?

Not that I want to go back. Give Karius a try for rest of season and then, if he isn't the Second Coming, all in for Oblak or the like.

But just saying.

Didn't he get that kind of backing though? I seem to remember the gaffa saying he'd be number one for the forseeable future.

The baffling thing with our keepers in general, is that when they've made mistakes they've still played. Then they've played well and been dropped.

I meant the benefit of having a defensive leader like Virgil in front of him. Yes, he's had backing before but never a competent defense.

We've had the back and forth of whether the keeper jitters unsettle the defense, defense unsettled the keeper, or whether Klopp/Rodgers just can't set up a defense. Karius is looking far more competent in this current run with a clear leader in the backline.

Mignolet could do better with a stable back line in front of him, but he's made so many individual errors that I don't think anyone could stomach him being back, and that bag of nerves could cause some unrest

Karius deserves the nod at the minute, and for the foreseeable

Definitely agree. Karius for the rest of the year, barring injury or major mishap.

Just an internal curiosity how Mignolet would have fared had he benefited from a settled defense with Virgil.
