Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur Match Thread

half time thoughts

- Spurs have been shit, one lucky deflection and that's all they've done. They're garbage and we should have punished them enough times. Hopefully we don't regret this half or potential result
- Klopp's made a mistake here with Hendo. He's clearly off form, and with Ox and Keita coming off good games this was a chance to give us an edge which would have harassed the Spurs defensive duo
- Son has been a cunt and deserves a yellow.
- Gini invisible
- Result is worrying but we've been pretty average the whole season ... We've had spurts here or there, but we've not dominated teams ... so this is not surprising, but if last week's pathetic draw with Manure and this half doesn't wake us up, I don't know if we really have what it takes to beat Man City ... unless injuries and their defensive frailty screws them as it did with Norwich.

On paper Ox for Hendo looks good but i wouldn’t be surprised to see Div come on early for Hendo instead.

It’s almost like “the midfield which won the CL” isn’t actually as effective as we need in these games and we should be playing other players in our squad better suited to such a game
Another issue is the absence of Matip. Matip offsets this midfield's lack of creativity somewhat by often breaking the lines, and bringing the ball into the final third.

We have been very good. Kept the ball well and played through two high press lines from Spurs. We see a total different story than last sunday. I dont think the away team look forward to another 45 mins of this.

Firmino essentially playing in midfield now. We might as well take off Henderson and bring on Keita now.

The one thing about Klopp that really irritates me is his use of the bench. He gets his favorites and unless they’re hurt he plays them basically every game and when they’re having an off day he can be painfully slow to sub them out. This is the case with Hendo and Gini, both of which I really like, but after their performance at Gent, no way shoud Ox and Naby be riding the bench today.

I'd suggest that losing our number one keeper for most of the season til now, having our number two choice CB injured, & number three choice having played almost no footy since an injury, has played a much bigger part, than the system we play which gave us a brilliant defensive record last season, as well as being a huge part of what helps us play the way we do.

Yes mate and that was last season. God forbid it takes a genius like yourself to work out that we defend high and think ‘um, maybe we should target that’. But no, you just ramble on about absentees.

I think we’d miss the water boy more than we missed Alisson when he was out. Our record in his absence was amazing. To bring his injury up as something that hurt us is grasping for straws.

We've created enough chances to get the equaliser. But we need more from Mane and the midfield.

HT. Fucking annoying we havent made the most of the number of good & great chances we've had.

I can't see any change before 60 here, we're creating loads of chances, so no need to panic yet.

Cause we could be 3 or 4 up by now? He needs to change that midfield at the break and give them something else to think about... you know, cause we are NOT 3 or 4 up!

Fucking hell, Firmino with a header & yet again it's right at their keeper.

We are quite literally making him look good.

FUCK, Son off the bar! Didnt even see how he got there thanks to Sky.
