Liverpool v Newcastle Match Thread

I think we need to invite Newcastle on to the ball more and give us more space on the counter.

Similar game so far to the last relegation-threatened team we lost to a few weeks ago, not allowing any space at all and surrounding Salah whenever he gets the ball

We aren't being allowed many forward options and passing has been sloppy.

Can did well to win that, Firmino got the ball to Salah & he can't get room to shoot.

Firmino may have been better taking it himself in hindsight.

Making too many silly mistakes

Need to be more impulsive rather than trying to find the perfect move

Newcastle doing a very decent job at keeping us quiet. As expected. Think if we can get a scrappy 1st they will open up. Prays.

When the front 3 is marked this tight, you need someone in the midfield to step up.
Milner should not be on the bench

He has the passing ability to open Newcastle up.. our midfield is set up far too negatively.. More so with the ox deciding today is the game he is anonymous

Henderson hasnt done anything wrong but we look one dimensional. Rather have Milner in there.

Fuck, if VVD had have flung himself at that he'd have knocked it in.

No one expected everyone else to miss it though.

Too predictable..
Our midfield is awful.. to the point we are now by passing midfield in attempt to get it to the front 3

Not a huge Henderson fan but imo this isn't a game for Milner.

He needs time & space to work in, this Newcastle side are making our midfield cover ground & work for every inch.

Milner will play all our cl matches & a select few league games where we can expect more space in the midfield for him to exploit.
