How is Hendo in midfield going to change anything? That's not the problem.

He’s better than every single midfielder we have in there. Feels like our general play slipped soon as we accepted Hendo has to be in defence. Massive mistake...

How the match changed on those substitutions. Yes I know Ali made the errors but we were clearly in the ascendancy with Jones and Thiago on the pitch and then .. we weren't. Has Shaq. even touched the ball ? Even once ?

shaq has been invisible unfortunately.

Its part of the problem, the midfield has no aggression or balance, I dont give a fuck how easy on the eye Thiago is, he's offered next to fuck all in terms of actual end product.
That's true, but our problems run deeper than Thiago.
Honestly I'd want both Hendo and Fabs in midfield, and I was looking forward to seeing it today. You know considering that we just bought two defenders. Anywho....

Yeah I think you need to look at the front line more than Thiago, he's one of the very very few trying to thread it through. How often have we seen Mane & Mo making runs ... how many today? Or even over the past few matches. Our attack has become far less willing to take risks.

I think runs are there but midfield and defense stop playing them in, it’s less but current midfield as a combo are awful.

I never expected Thaigo to be the main man when we signed him, I thought that he would be that difference-maker. He would be that guy we played selectively against certain teams or to come off the bench. I never expected us to rely on him as we have in recent weeks. I think with a full-strength team Thiago doesn't play as often as he has, a great player I think when we're strong again we use him tactically.

Pre-match when I was shouted down. I later stated even one and get Hendo / Fabs back into midfield would be better than 2 CMs as our CBs.

I would be happy seeing two actual CBs playing at CB even if one is making his debut. Definitely more secure for set-pieces and an added threat when we have corners.

For me the game will be won or lost in midfield, at least get the best we have out there. They will do a great job shielding the defence and at the same time their energy will be needed to force turnovers.

We have to take a gamble somewhere, I'd rather it be with real CBs than weaken our midfield.
