Mo cant be that badly injued, all smiles on the bench.

andy robbo and trent are dope

He was asked by one of the assistants and then Klopp and he shook his head both times, hopefully they asked "are you fucked then?"

Thoughts ...

1) There are SO many players you want to mention ... I mean his was a fucking great performance of attacking prowess in the first 45 minutes and some of the most resolute defending I've seen since the Rafa days.
2) Was Karius even tested? He wasn't was he? But he strikes an imposing, confident figure now ...
3) TAA ... wow, did he just arrive? His defensive work on Sane was top top notch ... but what really really stood out for me? 90th minute clearance and that 'COME ON' passion you want and he's 19 ...
4) Lovren - too many wows ... I mean, everything was on the money. If only he was at this level week in, week out ...
5) VvD - He's a leader, a massive fucking presence that attackers fear. A few strange plays but overall, good game.
6) Robbo - solid solid game yet again. Pity he didn't clatter Sterling.
7) Hendo ... I mean, he probably deserves MotM for clattering Sterling and then giving him the 'Who are you Diego Costa?' look ... You can tell he hates the cunt, and I love that. A proper captain's performance tonight ... he led by example.
8) Milner ... he did everything a such a level tonight ... and like Hendo, led by example. He wants big ears ...
9) Ox ... What a fucking hit, and could have had an assist/goal on that one great run. He was key to harassing their team and was very good in defensive work.
10) Salah - like Palace, seemed off ... off = goal and an assist ... I LIKE! Hope injury isn't serious.
11) Bobby .. looked off too but what other striker creates the 1st goal? Yup, so fucking important ... and he led the pressing like a boss.
12) Mane ... ahhh mane mane ... a key key goal ... and a player who's confident and creating havoc on the pitch.
13) The tie isn't over ... but a 3-0 scoreline means City have to obviously attack, which will give us an advantage we're likely to capitalize on.
14) I know Silva is a great player, and the calls went again him, but he's a fucking little rat.
15) City's arrogance in this game cost them - from dropping Sterling (thanks!) to thinking playing tika taka for 90 minutes and not putting a shot on goal is how you score (thanks!). Do that again please you twats.
16) Was it only me, or was the atmosphere from minutes 49-70 or so very quiet? that wasn't near as 'powerful' as Chelsea-Liverpool in 2005 ...
17) ALLEZ ALLEZ ALLEZ!!!

How good was TAA tonight? Everyone was, especially Milner who was a leader of sorts with his constant pressing and crunching tackles, but special mention goes to the young lad, after a difficult couple of games. That's how quality players really respond.
He was absolutely brilliant.

I was scared to say it during the game in case I jinxed the lad!

Exactly.

As long as they play Otto next week

What a game.

Amazing first half where we absolutely battered them. They were properly on the ropes.

I don't quite know what to make of the second half. On the one hand we conceded far too much of the ball with poor passing and control but on the other it was quite novel to actually see us defend properly as a team.

3-0, clean sheet. Not bad. Not bad at all.

TAA was very impressive, particularly given the last couple games and recent criticism. Lovren also kept it really calm - thought he was better than VVD tonight who made a few really poor errors.

As impressive as VVD has been that's actually the first time he's played in front of an atmosphere as ferocious as that so hopefully that's his learning curve for that experience done now.

You learn your trade in these sort of games and we've been well out of practice for a while now. So to go through these massive ties and to learn how to be organised and disciplined, will do us well in the longrun under Klopp. Sometimes being difficult to beat takes a while to instill in a big team, and it only comes via experience. Hopefully that now translates (as it already is doing really) to the typical banana skin games we usually come unstuck in.

It's been a great few days in that sense. We didn't turn up against Palace but ground out a result, we were scintillating today but learned how to cope with the momentum inevitably dwindling. We'll benefit from that if we progress.

VVD was huge on the corners though. I guess he just isn't used to playing 2-3 high intensity matches in a week so the performance might take a hit slightly.
