Liverpool to swoop For Lodeiro

I did say "seems"

Fuck off, all of you !

*goes back to iPhone chicks who never question him*

so he's not a dribbler, more of a passer. that sounds to me as if he hasn't got much pace or close control or those sorts of qualities. unfortunately and obviously its going to be more difficult for him to pick out a pass in the premier league. so he's going to be about as useful as lucas isn't he

Less of a dribbler, more of a passer than Messi? Yet we can secure his services for 1 million? He's 20 yet has our scouts have crept under the noses of Barca, Mardid, Milan, Inter et al.

Olympiakos must be getting the loan forms ready as we speak.

Tim Vickery rates him...

"It's a bold move to throw in a 20-year-old playmaker for his international debut in the play-offs, and Tabarez was rewarded for his courage.

I was in Montevideo for the game, and came away enchanted with Lodeiro's performance. I've been raving about him all year - excellent left foot and vision of the game, chooses his options with great intelligence - but to play so well in such a high-pressure situation was remarkable. He improves the team in a weak area, and allows Forlan to operate closer to the goal. The worry for the World Cup, I suppose, is 'difficult second year-itis.' He's played so much and made so much progress in 2009, that he might start running into obstacles next year as defenders get to know him better."

He Got Lucas very badly wrong! How is he big and blonde?

But then he also spotted loads of great talents coming though such as Aguero, Diego, Robinho, Tevez, Mascherano, Pato.

Id say hes usually a pretty good judge and remember that assesment was during the season Lucas won player of the year in that league.

I remember he said Paletta and Leto where bad moves.

Cant remember what he said about Gonzalez...

Just googled it. Tim Vickery dont know shit!

"Why Liverpool Have Bought A Star..."

The young Chilean can fill any position down the left flank, from full back to winger, though his gifts are best suited to an attacking midfield role.

He has an electric burst of pace and an excellent left foot, which means he is very effective on the counterattack.

It is no co-incidence his best games for Chile have come away from home.
With the opposition pushing forward, Gonzalez has exposed them on the break.

He is well capable of getting on the scoresheet, as shown by his record of three goals in 13 caps.

Despite a slight frame he can generate plenty of power to shoot from long range.

He is a threat from free kicks, and is also adept at arriving at the far post to turn in crosses from the right.

Gonzalez was pitched into the highly competitive atmosphere of South America's World Cup qualifiers when he had only just turned 19.

He proved he could cope, and since then only injury has kept him out of the team. Only a harsh ruling, then, would deny him a work permit for his move to Liverpool.

Chilean players have a reputation for travelling badly.

Gonzalez, though, has already shown that he can adapt to European football.
His club, Albacete, may have been relegated from the Primera Liga, but he came out of the campaign with considerable credit.

Fitting into the Premiership is, of course, a more difficult task.

There is a new language to learn, a more physical type of game to get used to, and, of course, the extra pressures that come with playing for a club that is chasing titles.

Everything Mark Gonzalez has done so far would seem to indicate that he is up to the challenge".

Haha everything he did afterwards would seem to indicate he wasnt Tim!

Who is Lucas Leiva? What is his true position? And based on a previous article about South American youngsters leaving too early, eg. Gabriel Paletta, is Lucas ready to come to the Premiership just yet?

Mark Williams, Leamington Spa (and many others)

These moves are always a gamble, but I think this is a good one.

He's an exciting player of a type that Brazilian football hasn't produced too many of recently. Of late their central midfielders have tended to be 'holders' who sit and allow the full-backs to push forward.

Lucas is different. He's a big, blonde figure whose power and physical strength comes with attacking ability.

He can pass well and loves to rumble forward. He gets on the scoresheet both with blistering shots from range and from bursting beyond the strikers.

You can certainly imagine him playing alongside Javier Mascherano, for example.

I don't have the same fears for him as I did with Paletta. He's had two full seasons behind him - one helping Gremio win promotion from the second division, and then last year's success when he was chosen as the player of the championship.

In a perfect world you might want him to stay another year before moving on, but (a) Gremio need to sell to balance the books and (b) with Liverpool's strength in depth in central midfield it looks as if his first campaign will be a bedding in season.

Even Rebel or Glock could have spotted those potential stars.

hi everyone happy new year to you all . I have just watched all videos on line of nicholas lodeiro and ill tell you what all you reds we missed out on aguero when we were qouted nine million pounds for him and turned him down and that is liverpool football clubs biggest loss not only is he brilliant but he is worth in the regione of 50 million pounds now this boy looks equally as good as aguero at this age . I looked at videos of aguero when reds looking at him and this boy has the potential to be a top top star over the next few years like aguero . We are also after a turkish lad Arda Turan this boy has so much potential and skill he would be outstanding at lfc after a settling in period if rafa can get these two with maxi and a centerhalf the future will look bright for the reds . out of the fire rose a red phoenix

I don't get it... Aguero is only 9 months older, how can you say he was as good as Aguero at this age? Still... I hope we actually sign some flair players.

what mental scars and truths would that be monsieurdantes ? As for vickery spotting south american players that is the easy bit i could sit through videos or dvd's and pick out potential as could many other supporters the hard bit is buying the right ones the players that can adapt to moving country playing in probably the hardest fastest league in the world learning a new language as ian rush found out it is difficult . As a fan who has slaged off lucas levia and the way he plays for lfc after long disscusions and debates with other reds and thinking about his game i have come to the conclusion that it may not be lucas but the way rafa is making him play like a crab side ways or backwards and he may be just following orders . I say this because i read reports from brazil from when we were buying lucas and it was reported he was a young brilliant attacking midfield player that had an eye for goal and was voted the brazilian young player of the year he comes to lfc and he looks like a rabbit in the head lights the boy has lost his confidence due to a few things ie the way he has to play the crowd and doing the donkeywork for other players . The brazilians no a thing or two about football and footballers so why has he not fullfilled his potential you have to look at the manager and his tactics . So i would like to say to all you reds that slag him off as i have done in the past stop and think about what i am pointing out about the managers tactics and the way lucas told to play .

ok then i could go to games and pick out potential as others could do its not hard to do if you no about football . I am not having a go at vickery by the way just saying its not difficult to pick out young players with potential
