BT Sport to broadcast Gerrard's testimonial game

BT Sport has announced it will provide live and exclusive coverage of England and Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard’s testimonial, reports www.sportspromedia.com/
BT Sport will air the match, which will see Gerrard’s Liverpool take on Greek champions Olympiacos at Anfield on Saturday 3rd August, across the UK and Ireland.
All money raised from the event, including BT Sport’s rights fee, will be donated to the Steven Gerrard Foundation, which supports children’s charities in Merseyside and beyond.
“I am delighted that BT Sport will be showing my testimonial live and that this will help to raise more money for the important work of my foundation,” said Gerrard.
Gerrard’s testimonial will be the first live soccer shown by BT Sport following the network’s launch this summer.
“We are thrilled to be kicking off our live football coverage on BT Sport with this testimonial for the England captain, who is one of the greatest current players in the game,” said Simon Green, the head of BT Sport.
“This testimonial should act as a perfect curtain raiser for the coming season and a first opportunity for football fans to experience what BT Sport will have to offer over the coming years.”

I was holding out on this to be announced to get tickets for my boys confirmation. In the end couldn't wait longer so got us tickets for Gerrard's testimonial instead. Glad I did it now I hear this is sold out ... and I much prefer a weekend in Liverpool than that hole on the wrong side of the country
