do you disagree with me point here though macca?
Who are you, Long John Bloody Silver? Have you got a parrot on your shoulder? Speak ENGLISH!
Lol arrrr the lad (jimlad) has a point*

* - Even though his point isn't really valid as Riera could have played and we would still have lost, looking at how the rest of them played.

I get Rage's point but you don't always play your strongest eleven - there are other factors at play; squad discipline, training, youth, etc.

If you can't give Babel a chance when Riera's acting the cock then when can you? It's not Rafa's fault Babel didn't take it, again.

Quite so.

Ferguson's been known to drop players from the team for disciplinary matters.

its true though whatever you guys would like to believe riera should have been playing in them games, if not starting as an option off the bench. why wasn't he?

its not my fault every day we see another news story about rafa making dubious decisions.
Can this be put forward for the 'most stupid' post, ever?
go dig up the match thread for both them games we lost and see how many people wanted to know why riera wasn't on the pitch.

was riera fit? - yes.
was he being sold? - no.
why wasn't he playing? - because rafa wanted to teach him a lesson.
did the teaching of this lesson cost us points? - well he would have clearly been an improvement on the left then both yossi and babel.

can you follow this logical sequence of thinking or is that too complicated for you?
Oh you utter utter moron.

What proof have you got that Rafa was teaching him a lesson? None, absolutely nothing. If you're taling about a the 'flare up' then oddly this happened after the spurs games. So Rafa was teaching him a lesson for 'future' media outbursts?

You final point on your so called logic, with Riera playing could Liverpool have won? No! We were gash.

Don't ever try your logic on me until you've gone back to your primary teacher asked what it means...

You pillock.

This is much ado about nothing really.

I saw one article today that began by claiming the bust up was because of Rafa's refusal to sell Riera to Barca. Which was completely contradicted by Riera's own quote that appeared on the next line.

We dont know what really happened between Rafa and Riera, it should never have been in the press in 1st place.
I was very surprised not to see Riera starting that match.
What i hate is to see our manager or players talking to the media about stuff that should stay in the dressing room.

Rage, I agree with you.

Benitez has been a sactimonious cunt (again) and cost us points.

Whatever.
Yeah because Riera is this great saviour who singlehandedly carries the team and avoids us letting in goals.

Oh wait..

Please explain how he has been 'sanctimonious'.

I don't think Larry was serious there, he probably wrote that only to shut rage up.

The comment you made sarcastically has been used by many people on here; and not in the sarcastic tone implied by you.

Anyway,my apologies.

I'll leave it to you to discern whether that was sarcastic or not, Macca.

(I wasn't, but there you go.)

Exactly. I don't care if Riera had scored a fucking hattrick that day, the way were playing we'd have probably let in another 4 if he'd have scored them.

Yes, Rafa was a berk for not playing Riera if he was fit, but the bloke wasn't exactly going to turn the game for us.

Sami, on the other hand might have if he'd have still been here.

Yeah because Riera is this great saviour who singlehandedly carries the team and avoids us letting in goals.

to be fair even though he has next to no end product we seem to play better with him then without him.

Yeah, but that doesn't amount to categorically being able to state, beyond doubt, that we'd have won against Spurs or Villa just because he played, he was shite against Bolton anyway.

better control of the ball would have help us to dominate more in both games, but undoubtably we were undone by poor depending on set pieces. basically had riera played we probably (definately?) would have conceeded the same goals but we 'may' have been able to outscore villa and spurs had he played.
