Liverpool planning shock move for Arsenal star

Juventus and Liverpool will lead the chase for Arsenal defender Gael Clichy, if the French international decides not to renew his contract.
Clichy is out of contract in June 2012 and is quoted in France as saying his future is uncertain.
L'Equipe report that Clichy has yet to respond to Arsenal's recent contract offer and said: "I do not know yet [what the future holds for me]. For the time being only I want to think about the present."
 
i'd have him. a good option on the overlap. not the most capable defensively though
 
I was once under the impression that he was a great player. Then I realised that he was using his pace to mask his defensive frailties. Gibbs is probably a better player already.
 
id say theres a 95% chance that he will re-sign..

If he doesnt.. it will be because he hates the Uk or wants more money...

We need to start restricting huge wages unless they are worth it and although he is quick as hell, i dont think he has fulfilled that early potential. However, hes better than nothing - which is what we currently have.
 
not good enough defensively if we plan to play a 4-4-2 next year ... if we stick with the 5-3-2, then he would be a good option. He's not coming to us though.
 
He's recaptured a bit of form but he's not fulfilled the promise he showed the year he got in the team of the season. Seems incapable of holding the defensive line at times, struggles under the high ball and cant cross. In football manager world id sell him, but given that we're unlikely to find a better replacement im happy enough with him. The way he intercepts a misplaced pass, takes the ball in his stride and bombs forward is great to watch.
 
He's a rubbish defender and gets made to look the cunt everytime he faces anyone decent. Nani in particular regularly tortures him.
