Liverpool or England for the Cup?

Let's say you had the choice of either seeing:

England win the World Cup

or

Liverpool beating Scum to lift the 2010 FA Cup


Which would it be?

- We could feasibly see Liverpool win the FA Cup any year, but England winning the World Cup in our lifetime may never happen.

- I don't follow the National team except in the Tourneys, but just this once, I think I would have to go with England lifting the WC.

After all....Stevie G deserves it.

Not that i knock people who support the national team and that, but for me, a Liverpool pre-season game is more important to me than any England game.

maybe if you'd inserted a (your home country) to win the WC, I'd think about it more... but as an Australian, my choice is fairly simple!

It would be a tougher choice between Oz and LFC...

Now if it were the CL or PL then there is no question but the FAC ? Pleeease.

Of course most of those saying the FAC are not even English, mostly Irish ? So naturally you have an anti-England bias there.
 
Lets make it tougher....

Liverpool to win 19 this year or england to win the WC in SA.
I have to say I'd rather Liverpool win it then Ireland.

The apathy of the F.A cup by some is really astounding, the oldest (and one of the most prestigious) cup competition in the world and some just couldn't give a shit? Pfft.

[/quote]Its regarded as such because (i think) its the only cup in the world that every single tin pot registered team can compete for. From The bister arms workingmans 11 to Liverpool fc.
Doesnt make it important or prestigious. Its a dinosaur and Rafa generally treats it with the level of respect it merits.

Because it is one of the most widely known, watched and celebrated cup competitions going. That's how!
 
I'm not much of a supporter of England but for the nation to win the World Cup would be something special and would be nice to see.

Liverpool winning the League is more important to me of course, and I would probably say the same about the CL but I would certainly sacrifice an FA Cup win. Not too fussed about the FA Cup
 
An FA Cup or watching Terry, Lampard, Rio, Rooney et al, humping each to trying to get their hands on the trophy hoping that theirs is the face on the front page of the papers when they get welcomed home as heroes and 'The Greatest Ever' generation of players 😛

Don't think I could stomach that, even if I was english.

Kinda like me going to Ayia Napa and proudly announcing to the local coppers that I'm English.

The only players I really begrudge any sort of success in the side are Terry and Lampard. I always will Lampard to not fluff his chances... which kinda conflicts with the fact that I want England to win.
