Here's something to get you talking...

Arshavin has registered his son in a school in Liverpool 😱
Really? How's that come about then? We could never afford him, though, so don't get too worried yet.
I've no idea, strange one. Sure give us Torres and you can have him for free 😉

The Spanish Gary McAllister perhaps?

In spring a young man's fancy turns to quiffing, I see. 😉

I'd take him over Raul, despite Raul's goalscoring record, I think his position relies less on pace and his vision is excellent. I doubt he could play one of the two central midfield roles over here though, he'd be more likely to play the hole, for which we already have Gerrard, Yossi and some other guy.

i was honestly thinking about that one for a while...pacheco? maxi?

says it all, really - and not just about my mental state.

Guti was dating a tranny not long ago.

Just ask any Betis fan, they give him the most shit about that one haha. ;D

He is a tranny

Oh for the days when "tranny" was short for "transistor radio".

[Totters away muttering into his beard]

I suspect mark had Purple in mind, though as it happens either of those could do a job there.

thanks, sherlock!

Deadly serious mate!

As has been said, his talent really should've given him more than a career as a squaddie. I'm sure I read someone talking about how he could've been Spain's answer to Zidane had he not been such a party boy and really applied himself.

As for him coming to the Premiership, well I don't know. Still a good player as he can show in his cameos for Madrid but I can't imagine he'll be moving to work hard, so...

33? Wow, I thought he was like 28 or something. Very skilful player, but the obvious danger here is Morientes Syndrome: 33 is very old to move to a new country and league, particularly one that relies so much on pace and power. Overall, I'd pass, but it obviously depends what our options and resources are.

As for Arshavin... God, if only!

I know it is a huge if but you would have to wonder what would have happened last season if, as rumoured, Rafa had been successful in hijacking the Arshavin transfer to Arsenal.
If nothing else we would have got an extra two points ahainst the Gooners.
Sigh.

we signed keane they got arshavin...

I thought we sold Keane when they got Arshavin?
Correct.

Rumour had it that Rafa made a late bid to bring in Arshavin, as a replacement for Keane, but he had already made his mind up to go to Arsenal.

To be fair there were plenty on here that wanted to sign him the summer previous after the Euros but alas we got Keane then instead.

He has one good game in every 10.

He's got wonderful ability, but he doesn't apply it enough.

hmm..

the idea of Rafa signing more players just makes me cringe..

If we get new owners we should also start with a new manager.. I'm over this old slow player bullshit and several years on we are still fucked in several positions over the pitch..

Guti and Raul?? maybe 5 fucking years ago!
