Yes, Jordan does strike me as the type of media-savvy, canny operator who would know that a deadpan delivery would be funnier in the meta-context of this whole debacle, playing as it does on his own slightly "straight" whiter-than-white persona, as well as the wider view of footballers not being the most natural mimics or entertainers oustide of their very specific field.
