However, I'm worried about his attitude and work ethic. Will he be settled in Liverpool? Will he accept being on the bench? African cup of nations every two years?

In his case 21 years old and alone in Liverpool, knowing only French and Arabic. It's gonna be tough.

Well he could learn English. Or bring a mate along.

I think if he is limiting himself to only signing for clubs who have Arabic speakers in the squad then he's going to struggle to be fair

I AGREE

Seeing that its been 1.5 good solid season in Ligue 1 since coming to the fore, should he be elevated from the startlet status, despite his age? 😛

Perhaps Comolli was watching the other Sochaux star player, Martin Marvin?

Coincidentally in an interview today:
"Last summer I wanted to leave but the president didn't. I didn't try to force his hand. Thinking about it I made the right choice."

"When you're a young player, the most important thing is to play matches, which is what I'm doing at Sochaux."

"I'll finish the season at FCSM and I hope Ryad stays too.I'm a fan of La Liga but if a big French club want me I could stay in France."

Press in France also claim Boudebouz more likely to move to Lyon or PSG in Jan than abroad.

When questioned by France Football regarding the interest of Liverpool, Boudebouz admitted that he was well aware that he was being tracked.

"I was told that he had spoken to the president of Sochaux, but I don’t know what they said. We’ll see," responded the 21-year-old.

"I cannot say I feel like leaving, that would be a lie. For now, there is no proposal, but if there was a compelling opportunity, I could not refuse.

"But, I am at Sochaux at the moment and I am very much with Sochaux."

At least make sure they're legal first.

Sochaux president Alexandre Lacombe reportedly met with Liverpool’s Sporting Director Damien Comoli before the Lyon game. Liverpool’s interest seems very real, however there are doubts over whether Boudebouz could adapt to the style and physicality of the Premier League.

Fans of English football will have already watched the winger, possibly without noticing. During the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Boudebouz showed glimpses of his potential during Algeria's otherwise turgid 0-0 draw with England in Polokwane.

Despite being born in Colmar, western France, and having graduated from the Under-17 and Under-19 youth set-ups, Boudebouz choose to play for the country of his parents' birth, receiving his first call-up against Ireland months before the World Cup.

Scout Eugene Battmann spotted the then 12 year-old Boudebouz's obvious potential while playing for SR Colmar and subsequently took him to Sochaux’s training centre in Alsace. Nine years on Boudebouz has played over 100 games for the club.

Sochaux finished 5th last season and while most of the plaudits were given to Marvin Martin and strikers Maiga and Brown Ideye, Boudebouz certainly caught the eye of Europe's scouts. Finishing the season with eight goals and eight assists, he seemed to have finally found an end product to go with his obvious skill and technical ability.

He's already bagged five goals and two assists this term but, more importantly, Boudebouz has shown more maturity and taken games by the scruff of the neck. The team as a whole might be struggling to find last season’s form Boudebouz has excelled.

With Sochaux’s having already been eliminated from the Europa League at the qualifying stage, a few clubs might see the Algerian as the perfect winter signing.

And while the 21 year-old might prefer to stay in Ligue 1 for a few more years - PSG, Marseille and Lyon will all be interested - there is no doubt many of Europe’s big names will be monitoring his situation closely.
