Liverpool beat Real and Arse to sign Peruvian 'Jewel'

I think we would be menthol not to buy him.

Haha!

I love the name!

1. He was born on the 29th September 1994 in Barrios Alta, Lima, Peru, to Amador Polo and Marisol Andrade.

2. He joined Universitario’s youth ranks in 2004 at the age of nine.

3. His nickname is ‘La Joya’ (The Jewel)

4. He scored three goals in four starts for Peru in the 2011 South American U-17 Championship. Peru were eliminated at the first group stage. He had scored once for Peru in the 2009 South American U-15 Championship.

5. Soon after the U-17 Championship he made his first team debut for Universitario, starting in a 1-0 win over Alianza Atletico on the 24th April. He then scored his first goal a week later in a 5-0 drubbing of Cienciano. Breaking onto a ball over the top, he nodded it forwards, powered away from a defender and steered a superb left foot half volley into the top corner. His left is his weaker foot!

6. He scored three goals for the Universitario team that won the inaugural U-20 Copa Libertadores in June.

7. He is a pacey forward, who does good work cutting in from wide areas and possesses a ferocious shot. Strikes the ball well off either foot, although he is naturally right footed.

8. He was thought to be close to signing with Italian side Udinese earlier this summer, with Rayo Vallecano and Valencia also holding an interest.

9. His idol is Johan Fano, who was in the Universitario starting eleven when Polo made his debut for the first team, while he names Paolo Guerrero as his favourite national team player

10. Peru coach Sergio Markarian has called up Polo, along with three other young players, to be part of his squad for the upcoming couple of friendlies against Bolivia.

Only shows his goals, but the lad is lightning quick by the looks of it.
Doesn't look like a Neymar type, ie 100% certainty to succeed, but looks to be a talent nonetheless.

If he turns out shit....

Andy Polio.

If he turns out well we can see him off to Barcelona and we'll be minted.

The future of Universitario prodigy Andy Polo appears to lie across the Atlantic Ocean in Germany, after the youngster's agent Borja Gonzalez affirmed that there was a great chance that he could end up in the Bundesliga.

Polo, who only turned 17 at the end of September, has become a regular in the first team of the Peruvian giants, appearing 20 times in 2011 and hitting the net four times; including a vital goal against Godoy Cruz in Thursday night's Copa Sudamericana clash which kept his team's hopes alive in the competition.

Italian clubs Udinese and Juventus have been linked with the teenager, as have Liverpool in England. Speaking exclusively to Goal.com, however, and without revealing which club is chasing him, Gonzalez revealed that the striker's destiny almost certainly lied in Germany.

"Polo is the new Kun Aguero, a player with great potential. I can say with 90 per cent confidence that from January he will play for one of the big-guns of the Bundesliga. Things can change quickly in football, but it is almost certain," the agent stated on Friday, continuing to name the other institutions who have shown interest in the wonderkid.

"In Italy, Udinese and Genoa have called me for enquiries, in the Netherlands Ajax and Twente and Arsenal and Liverpool from England, while in Spain Atletico Madrid are also keeping track."

Polo would join several of his countrymen in plumping for a move to the Bundesliga. International stars Claudio Pizarro, Jefferson Farfan and Paolo Guerrero all currently ply their trade in Germany.
