Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has hinted he could unleash his strongest side on Hearts in their Europa League play-off second leg clash.
Rodgers was criticised for leaving stars like Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez and Glen Johnson at home for the first leg in Edinburgh.
The Merseysiders recorded a 1-0 win courtesy of a late Andy Webster own goal at Tynecastle, but Rodgers said he believes the Anfield return on Thursday presents him with a better opportunity to play a full-strength team.
Although the former Swansea boss was coy on the specific inclusions of Gerrard and Suarez, he said: “We want to go as far as we can in this competition. The most important thing just now is getting through against Hearts.
“Some players who missed the first leg will come back in. I don’t know what was written about out team for that game but every side I send out respects our opposition.
“I put out teams to win. You’ll see the strength of our side on Thursday night.”
The Liverpool manager said that Hearts high-energy performance at Tynecastle had impressed him and he had warm words of praise for the club.
Rodgers added that while John McGlynn’s men command his respect, he still expects to win every game at Anfield, with Thursday being no different.
Rodgers said: “I thought Hearts did very well. The team and crowd at Tynecastle were brilliant and they fed energy to each other.
“David Templeton is a real threat, he has good skill and is quick. Callum Paterson impressed me and is a good size while Ryan McGowan is eager to get up and down the right.
“I’d like to think we are overwhelming favourites. We’re 1-0 up, we have top players and we look to beat every team that comes to Anfield.”
