Is it Saturday or Sunday?

Same as your lineup khl, although I think Lucas will feature.

I'd put money on it.

-------------------- Reina
Carra --------- Zorba --- Skrtel --------- Insua
-------------- Lucas --- Masher
Degen ------------ Gerrard -------------- Riera
------------------- Kuyt

Maybe we'll see N'Gog play though with Kuyt on the right.

He was dropped for the Bolton game and the only reason why he should be included for this one, should be down to Aquilanis poor showings. I'm sure he would've kept his place in the starting line-up with a marginal better effort against Bolton.

I reckon Lucas will start.

On the bench.

Just change Skrtel for Agger, I wouldn't change the defense at the moment.

Rafa will play Lucas though, especially after Aquilani's performance last week.

Aquilani was a liability against Bolton. There's no way he'll start against Everton. This will be the team...

Reina

Carra - Skrtel - Zorba - Insua

Gerrard - Lucas - Mascherano - Riera

Kuyt - Wash

By the same logic Skrtel should be dropped as well especially now that Agger's ready.

To be fair to Aqualini he had to put in a shift behind the bar in the Harry before the game and he was even substituted early so he would be behind the bar again before all the post match revellers arrived.

Tis true because i seen it my my own eyes 😉

I like Agger - I think he's a better defender than Skrtel BUT Skrtel is playing ok right now, and the defensive unit is in a good groove. We're on a good run right now, leave the back 4 as is and if they need changing, bring in Agger. Otherwise, ride the hot four.

I don't think Skrtel has been anywhere near ok of late mate. If it wasn't for Kyrgiakos we would've conceeded against Bolton and probably lost to Stoke.

Skrtel is all over the place and has been so all Season positionally and he has at least two or three blips throughout a game. Rash challenges and strange decisions.

His distribution is often good actually but the main issue with him taking part in our build up play for me is that he only rarely moves forward with the ball. It's a pass to the nearest or a long ball. And whenever he's under pressure he seems to loose his head a bit.

If Agger isn't the answer then I'd bring back Carra alongside Kyrgiakos and then play Kelly or Degen at RB.

-------------Reina
Carra--Skrtel-Kyrgi--Insua

Maxi--Mascher-Gerrard-Riera
----------Aqua
------------Kuyt

I didn't realise Agger was fit again - is that definite?

He sat on the bench against Bolton. He should be ready for selection.

Based on his stunning form earlier this season, he should stay at the bench!

Indeed. I'd say that will be the team.

I think he might play Dirk on the right.

Rafa will be worried about Baines getting forward and putting the crosses in for Fellaini/Cahill.

This is Rafa's team

REINA

CARRA SKRTEL DARIUS DANESH INSUA

LUCAS MASHER

KUYT GERRARD RIERA

WASH

Bollocks.

EDIT: By that logic we should only field Reina and Masher.

I think so too, though Pete has a point about Baines. That said, Bale was a threat against Spurs and Rafa put Degen there to double up with Carragher, so who knows?

The game will probably be stretched, I doubt Everton will come here to sit back so hopefully we can play a decent passing game in the final third, between the likes of Gerrard, Riera, Kuyt and Maxi.

Talking to a lot of blues recently, it seems that Baines is in excellent form going forward at the minute.

I really think Rafa will go cautious mate.

Probably, especially when you consider how we've lined up against the "battlers" of the Premiership, he'll want to put out a side that will fight at least, so I'm guessing we won't see the likes of Babel, Aquilani etc.
