I wish Xabi hadn't reminded us of the missed opportunity with Barry, he would have improved us.

gutting.

Totally. Still pains me to think about it.

That move for Barry was a disaster from inception to end.

"He doesn't operate the same way to a lot of other managers, but you can't deny that he is successful in what he does. He keeps his distance emotionally - you are the player and he is the manager and that's the way he likes it. You have to accept that."

Another one to add to the 'Rafa has poor man-management skills' club.

In the end it became one, but I don't agree about the "inception" bit. Alonso - who had been Rafa's own first LFC signing - had been short of his own best standards for quite a while by the time we first went after Barry, who had shown for England how well he dovetails with Stevie G.

Although it's to Alonso's eternal credit, that last season, after he had made the decision to go, he produced what was, in my opinion, his best ever form for Liverpool.

I've spent months on end arguing against that very opinion you've just posted and seeing people come out with it still riles me. It shouldn't, but it really really does.

He said: "I feel reborn and I want to smash the world."

Lol. Did he really say that?

That wasn't my intention when posting it, but I stand by it all the same.

Heh, I know it wasn't JJ. I just very strongly disagree.

It's all by the by now anyways, so no point getting into it.
