Judge Jim Jordan might well be a reasonable person. For one thing, he is a Democrat, which is not an easy thing to be in the state of Texas. Could it be that he didn't even know about the High Court's decision when he granted an injunction? I don't think the situation around LFC is much in the news in Texas...

If you write him, by all means explain the facts of the case and what damage we are bound to incur as a result of this delay. But let's not behave like total dicks, it certainly won't help matters.

So we have to wait until the 25th?

This is a fucking farce.

Go and drown and rot in a bucket of your own bile and vomit, you fucking cunting fuck, Mr Hicks.
a small district court house superseded the verdict of an english HIGH COURT.
I'm sorry but that fucking hilarious, and not in a funny way
If we win this one, where next? Ohio? Maine? Beirut? Twatt (its a real place)? As long as it's not Rhyl, we'll be fine.
Well, at least we have a chance of winning these games, which is more than can be said about the ones we play on a pitch.

It felt nice saying 'Liverpool won' today.
win? feels more like draw...
It felt like a win earlier in the day.

It's like the Arsenal game, we thought we were heading for a win until a late late blunder, that was stupid but destructive.

Did we Anita, did we? Seems like a cup tie, winning bar a last minute fumble which has taken us into extra time.

I understand that Hicks and Gillette wanted to make money, but this is just spiteful now. Hicks alone lost hundreds of millions when he sold an american 'franchise' recently without qualm, yet seems determined to take us down, regardless of the personal cost to him. He doesn't give a fuck - he knows he's lost - but will take us too if possible, and thats the scary thing.

Re: LFC Sold to NESV (RBS WIN COURT RULING - CONFIRMED)

Hicks Lawyer

"innundated with angry e-mails from Liverpool fans." I asked him: How does a Dallas court have jurisdiction over proceedings initiated in the U.K. He says: Royal Bank of Scotland is registered to do business in the state of Texas; and, of course, New England Sports Ventures is U.S. based. Also being sued is Liverpool chairman Martin Broughton. And, says Stodghill, "We allege in the lawsuit he committed some of his tortuous acts in Texas in meetings with Mr. Hicks, so we're suing him in part based on conduct here that did harm to Texas residents."

Hicks and Gillett's £237 million debt to RBS is due Friday. So, then, what happens between now and then, as the TRO hearing is set for October 25? Says Stodghill, what happens in the next two days "remains to be seen." As in: "There could be an additional fight at the courthouse over the TRO -- that could potentially happen. There could be discussions with the board to evaluate the higher offers. The one offer they're refusing to evaluate is £100 million over NESV's. And there could be discussions with RBS."

Let's just hope it isn't like the Northampton cup tie, huh?

Well I've had enough for one day. Hicks yet again did a great job of destroying my smile, bluster or not. I truly despise you O'Hicks.

Re: LFC Sold to NESV (RBS WIN COURT RULING - CONFIRMED)

They're still trying to get a payment out of the new owners. Actually, this last minute reach for more has blown up in Hicks face previously.

When he was in a similar situation with baseball's Texas Rangers team (almost typed franchise, don't want to make a bad impression on my first RAWK post), where the team entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The move was a calculated attempt to dodge/discharge some of the huge amount of liabilities that the Rangers faced. (So, it's the US equivalent of Administration)

Hicks made a deal to sell the team through the bankruptcy court, and laced it with all kinds of sweetheart fare-thee-wells for Hicks (Hicks would directly get $75 million US for a collection of real estate around the stadium, he'd retain the title of chairman emeritus for three years, the new owners taking over some liabilities he had, and season tickets and premium parking passes).

This predictably, enraged the creditors, who challenged the sale in bankruptcy court. The court disallowed the sale, and re-started the bidding process. The end-result, the same buyer bought the team, for nearly $100 million US more, but ALL the money went to the creditors. Hicks didn't see a single bit of it.

Here's a story with more:

http://www.dmagazine.com/Home/D_CEO/2010/November/Tom_Hicks_and_Texas_Rangers_Feel_Bankruptcy_Burn.aspx

(oh, and if you want proof that LFC could immediately restore themselves to prominence after H&G leave.. that baseball team, I mentioned above, that was sold this year? They're in the baseball playoffs, in the league championship series (basically, the round of four in the playoffs))

It's starting to feel like administration was Hicks goal, so he could try some of the shenanigans that happened when the Stars went into Chapter 11. Or am I imagining it? RBS and Co are very quiet tonight...
They wont put us in administration now. We have a buyer. The sale is agreed. They wouldnt benefit from putting us in administration now. They will just ride this out and if its the 25th its the 25th. Hicks will have lost control of the club totally by then and NESV WILL buy the club. Its all been agreed and ratified in the high court. No drama.
