Broughton has not said that. He's choosing his words carefully. If NESV have a sale agreement - I expect tonights board meeting to be a formality.

I think that's rubbish.

They're going to give the impression that they're going to look at bids since if they don't Hick's counter-claim would have some legs ie he can prove that he should be entitled to damages if Broughton deliberately accepted the lower offer in an attempt to reduce monies Hicks is entitled to.

In reality it's a done deal, and if Broughton tries anything NESV will be in court tomorrow.

Now that the cunts are out, this could turn into a bidding war.

NESV were so keen to get this deal done asap because they were buying the club at a super discount.

Now the board are back in control without hindrance, they are obliged to review all the bids again.

Yes, I think Broughton's just being cautious, and rightly so. Nothing's done until it's done.

And maybe they will re-consider other bids, which isn't a bad thing, it's making sure we get the best possible deal.

Yes, I don't agree with Terrier's suggestion, though it's a possibility.

RBS' injunction basically validates the agreed sale to NESV since the directors were validly costituted.

I hope Broughton hasnyt been advised that the ruling in effect allows him to re-start negotiations, because I think that's wrong.

they prob want to make sure NESV haven't changed their mind before commenting or he'll look a fool. NESV might have another random thing in the agreement that make them decide "not for me thanks"

So we have another 8 hours to wait for the Board to decide on the sale, after which waiting for G&H to appeal or not and then it is over when it is over.

I think he's just being cautious about the language he uses. He can't come out and say 'Yes, the board will vote this way tonight', he's right, that would be inappropriate. I think if there's one thing that's clear about Broughton from all this is that he's quite a considered guy in what he says and when he says it.

Chill out with the hysteria.

hopefully purslow and broughton are choosing their words carefully in case G&H appeal and it looks like they have preapproved a sale even though the board was just reconstituted.

That's true

But at the same time, I'm pretty convinced that the NESV deal is not set in stone.

Quite rightly, the board will have the right to examine all offers on the table and ensure that the club is sold for maxium value.

If someone comes in with a trump bid, they are obliged to take it into consideration, that's their bloody job!

Yes, There was an article I posted a few days ago confirming that.

The board apparently scoured the world looking for one, but never found him.
