I just noticed that at the halfway-ish stage of the season we are three points above the relegation zone and STILL on negative goals.
Fucking Liverpool.
Fuck you Rafa and fuck you x 1000000 Roy.
Fuck you Gillet and Hicks.
Fuck you most of the playing staff.
Fuck.

I'm just happy we've managed to keep soto and babel over the summer, although i'm now concerned for January. Those boys have big club dreams

I think we just have to take the shite thats happening on the chin for another six months. I'm not even reading any more interviews with Roy and what not.
We'll finish somewhere between 7th and 11th, and Roy will be gone.

I can understand why FSG have not acted yet. Because they can't get their man to take over in the middle of the season, that can first happen after the season.

So, I know its horribly shite now. But it will get better. Much better. FSG will invest, I have no doubt about that. They are currently building this club up again from the ruins that it was left in by H&G. And for those who say they haven't done anything yet. Well, they have paid 300 mill for the club, and removed 40 mill a year in interest payments that were killing us.

I want Roy sacked though, and Kenny to take over for the next 6 months as care taker. Let's hope that can happen asap. Roy needs to go now. FSG must have a very good reason for not wanting to go down that road.

That's what worries me though. Surely it would have to be along the lines of "this season's a write-off anyway, so it doesn't really matter", which I would strongly disagree with, though I'm sure you're right about the medium-term future.

Roy Hodgson is like the turd that won't flush.

We should have sacked him long long time ago. Probably even before we hired him. He is clearly the worst manager in the history of liverpool....

When can we flush him out? When?

I hope whoever comes in does well, obviously, but it'll be nice when whoever it is has the opportunity to turn around and say "fuck you" to Roy, pissing on his notion that no one else would be able to get more from this squad.

Exactamundo Mark.
No sane Liverpool fan expected much this season. Top 6 and a bit of stability off the field with maybe a half decent crack at a cup.
What we have is three points off demotion and negative goals.

Laughable.

Judge me after 10 games.....no 15........no 20.....

Youre getting us relegated you sack of untidy scruffy unsexy shirt tails hanging out bastardo.

I've never agreed that it was the interest payments that were killing us, if they were then we should have the ability to have a huge positive net spend on transfers. Upwards of 40m this year alone.

Does anyone believe it will happen?

Hansernwhen you say you think they'll invest in the club, do you think they'll put their own outside money in?

All this 'Get Kenny back' irks me, he hasn't managed in the Premiership for over 10 years, what's to say he'll get more out of these players than Roy? He wont... End of... And to bring him back runs the risk of losing his legendary status.

a competent manager (not excellent, just competent) would have had us challenging for the league never mind 4th place.

We're not good enough Neil, the squad certainly isn't and when you throw in injuries and ageing players...

we probably would fall away come march/april but now in dec we'd be in the mix. the top teams have been dropping points left and right and but for our frankly disgracful away record we'd be up there.
1 away win all season? blackpool have more away wins.

I'm not arguing the toss over our away wins, it's shite, everyone knows it. I said we'd do better, not challenge for the league, because we wouldn't. The squads in the top four are all alot better than ours in key areas.

I'm a bit depressed about the whole situation to be honest. There are now six or so teams with a lot of money behind them and good squads. I don't believe our team as bad as is being made out at times, but with the way things are going, Torres likely wanting out, Hodgson, NESV still learning etc., I'm struggling to be optimistic about the future.

For us to get back in there and properly challenge, we're going to need some luck and to make a lot of right decisions in a short space of time. What could go wrong, eh?

We need backing aswell, and for all NESV's goodwill and ability to say the right things, they're obviously not the sugar-daddy kind of investors that we see elsewhere, which is a shame in some respects because we could do with a shot in the arm.

Yeah, potentially.

The alternative is that we make a few very shrewd purchases and get a manager who turns out to be a bit of a star a la Guardiola. It's a lot to expect.

We need to trim the wage bill by a fair few million, ship out a bunch of fringe players and useless kids and invest a few millions into first team players, but genuine class. And then we need to rely on that youth system to get us through that self same period.
Its not gonna happen in one transfer window.
Im sure we all know that like but i hope to see forward momentum in january.
Maybe that jut means getting rid of Jovanovic, Poulsen, Agger etc and looking to add that money saved to a summer budget.
Throwing money at new signings wont solve anything imho.

You just broke KHL's heart, right there.

I've thought all along as a club we need to take a step back, decide our long term plan and then execute that plan even if it means we have to tread water for a few seasons. short term fixes aren't going to make us long term challengers. anyone who isn't prepared to wait while that plan reaches fruition should be allowed to leave.

manu
chelsea
arsenal
man city
spurs

all have better squads and in the case of arsenal and manu have vast experience, a couple of players wont be able to combat that. we have a squad that currently SHOULD get us 6th (whether we acheive that is debatable) we need several players and good managerial tactics to give us the ability to challenge for 4th and we need the depth of squad to challenge for the league. I can't see that happening for at least two summer transfer windows.

I dont understand people who say that now is not the time to bring in a new manager. Now IS the time as far as Im concerned. If they have identified Roy's replacement get him in now. Every day Roy is here we sink deeper into the shit

who says they have identified the new manager?

Jack - mostly agree, though I kinda hope they haven't identified Roy's successor yet, because I want them to cast their net far wider than we did when we appointed him in the first place - it mustn't just be a matter of "take the best one out of whoever's available now". But that absolutely should NOT delay getting rid of Roy, who should immediately be replaced by the King till the new permanent guy arrives.

All this "he hasn't managed in the Premiership for over 10 years" is what irks me. So what if he hasn't? Some folks keep parroting this but never get as far as Word 1 of an explanation why it makes any difference. The man himself doesn't think it rules him out, and that's good enough for me.

kenny should get the job permanently or not at all.
the time to employ kenny was in the summer. if kenny excelled then great, if not then removing him (or rather giving him his old job back) wouldn't have cost nesv a penny.

What if they've identified the right man but he's not available until the summer?

Yep. And just to further the point, Woy managed last season and look how much good it's done us!

I get the feeling many of the players would 'want' to play for Kenny anyway. I'd rather they wanted to play for the club like, but anyway..
