That was the point
To be fair theres a handful of posters doing the anti jinx, and they're not going around lording it when we do drop points. They quietly go on to focus on the next match. This is why it's annoying actually. People who do it call it successful anti-jinxing when we win, and when we don't try to make it look like they called it correctly.
We need a player to bang some in. When firmino and salah dont look like scoring its an issue.
Also we were missing two first choice CMs and it showed. Far more than at RB. Hendo and Gini play last night we'd do loads better
Totally agree he cant do a TAA job; but I think we can also agree that if Clyne had been playing he wouldn't have been there (albeit offside) to put the cross in for Mane last night, or get the knock-back at the far post for Salah's goals against Palace.Whilst I get what you're saying & I don't blame him at all, I blame the fact that we don't have TAA in the side for a LOT of our problems.
The job our full backs do is massive, a lot of people say Firmino makes us tick, which has a lot of truth in it, but I'd argue our full backs drive our entire style of play.
Without TAA, Robbo has looked poor as well. That's not a coincidence at all, cos teams have been rotating their players onto dealing with him, which is much easier when you don't have an equally large threat on the other side, & means he's constantly got fresher legs chasing him down.
Clyne couldn't do the job TAA does, so let's not pretend he can, the advantage of keeping him would have been being able to play Fabinho/Milner/Hendo in midfield in these recent games, which would almost certainly have helped out that side of our play.
I think I read that TAA will be ready to play for the game after Bournemouth. I fucking hope so, in fact, I hope it makes a miraculous recovery & is fit to play this weekend.
I dont think they suit our shape together. You can add one into a settled 11 no worries but 2 behind Lallana is a fucking struggle.Fabinho and Keita are supposed be two of our first-choice CMs. They cost nearly ONE HUNDRED MILLION POUNDS.
And they were woeful.
That's cos we haven't had have the full back threat so we can't stretch defences & make room for him to take advantage of, it effectively localises our main threats in a small area, making it easier to defend against.I'd try bringing Salah back into the middle for a bit. He's looked a bit lost the last couple of games.
The anti jinxing is getting tedious.
I would if we also swapped squads.
Tom Brown does not believe in jinxes, fairies, santa, the easter bunny or God.
The best point made all day. I'm still on dry Jan as I only started after the kids went back to school, so decided to extend it into February, but it officially ends this Friday night.I think too many of our fanbase did dry Jan and need to get on the beers. Sober Anfield is a tetchy and quiet anfield.
If this is our blip

If our fortunes pick up to coincide with my return to alcohol, then, notwithstanding my dialectical materialist approach to life and rejection of all things ethereal, I will never again have another dry January, but will instead go for a dry June or July
I certainly wouldn't swap being three points ahead with being three points behind.
City vs Chelsea will really help set the temperature across our fan base.
Chelsea win - we panic about Spurs
If it is a blip and we come out of it the other end against Bournemouth, then two matches will be a small rut to climb out of.
Let's see how the land lies after the weekend, but more importantly lets keep on, keeping on!
Is a rut not similar to a trough? So to clarify: "blips" are like tunnels, that you can emerge from, and "ruts" definitely require some climbing to escape from.
I know who to come to when we are in a "trough" or hit a "wobbly patch"
