So what line-up are we expecting tomorrow?

I think it might be something like this.

Ward
Flanagan
Gomez
Lovren
Moreno
Henderson
Wijnaldum
Coutinho
Chamberlain
Solanke
Woodburn

We need a result and it's tough opposition at a ground we've not faired too well at in recent years.

---------------Karius------------------
TAA---Lovren---Klavan--Moreno
---------------Milner-------------------
------Henderson----Coutinho--------
-Ox-------Solanke------Woodburn--

I think we will play a weakened team mid week and get turned over the go back at the weekend with a full strength side and beat them.

Ward, Ox, Grujic, Solanke and Woodburn should all get a start, Coutinho Sturridge should get a run at some point to get more minutes to sharpen up.

I'm liking that line up. But i reckon Matip and Lovren will play at CB with Gomez at RB. But i prefer your team.

I've really no idea whether a full strength team or a mostly youth/fringe players lineup is more likely to get a result. I suspect it's that neither will do well as defensively we are all over the place at the moment and even though we know how Leicester will play it will probably still take us by surprise.
Attitude is key to this and if we don't match their aggression and determination then it could be a tough game.
Hopefully we can take our chances, limit theirs or just fluke it.

Grujic is already 21. He needs to improve massively and start taking any first-team chances he gets, otherwise he's never going to make it.

I've always been impressed when he's played, but he's so rarely played or comes on with 2 minutes to go, it's borderline impossible to make an impression

If he doesn't play against Leicester, it's another "what's the fucking point"

I think the plan is for Ward to play in these games, if indeed it does get to be plural. Solanke has to start. His movement is really impressive and he deserves an opportunity. Woodburn, ditto. I also hope Rhian Brewster gets a place on the bench, with the possibility of fifteen-twenty minutes on if the result is looking good. He's a precocious talent. If Sturridge is going to be of any use at all this autumn then he needs to get sharper, so I'd play him for at least half the game.

He hasn't even been on the bench for a while. Are we sure he's not injured again?

Coutinho off after 60 minutes regardless of the score. Ings on for Solanke or Woodburn for last 30 minutes. Salah and Firmino not on the bench i.e. rested.

We need Sturridge in good form = Sturridge to start, Solanke as a sub.

it will be a weakened team and its an away match so depressingly see us getting knocked out of this one.

Ward will start 100%.

TAA-Gomez-Lovren-Robertson
--------------Grujic-------------------
Oxlade---Coutinho---Woodburn
-------------Sturridge----------------

We know what Sturridge can do and we also know it's not as good as what he used to be able to do. He's a fading force and bound to be injured again when we actually need him so I would give Solanke a chance to shine and he should definitely (from now on) be ahead of Sturridge in the pecking order.

I'd play Solanke, Woodburn, Grujic, Chamberlain, Gomez, Coutinho, Robertson and whoever else needs to get some first team experience/ fitness (as long as they deserve it obviously)

Alexander-Arnold has had two abysmal games, so he could do with a less pressurised opportunity to show what he can do, rather than be dropped.

Don't care who plays in goal, they're all shit.

I'd play both of them. Solanke deserves his chance. With Sturridge, we've surely reached the stage where he just has to earn his wages. He needs to play his way into form, and if he can't do that because of his fitness, then, well, that's it. He can't just drift through another season as a question mark. He needs to contribute, or be shown not to be able to contribute. At the moment he's fit, and he needs to regain his sharpness.

Maybe play both but if he only starts with one striker then it has to be Solanke. He looks robust and hopefully his career won't be blighted by injury (like Sturridge's and Ings' so far) so hopefully if at some stage this season Klopp wants to play with an out-and-out striker he'll prove fit-for-purpose in both quality and fitness.

Sturridge looks sharper as the Burnley game went on. I will play him just to see if he just needs more game sharpness, or if he is done.

------------------ Ward
TAA --- Gomez -- Lovren --- Robertson
----------------- Milner
--------- Ox ------------- Grujic
--------------- Coutinho
---------- Sturridge -- Solanke

I'd play Sturridge as the most senior player, give him the captain's armband and find out if he's willing to guide/shake a team through a tight game. If it works it could give him a new lease of life.

Line up tomorrow imo:

---------------------Ward
Gomez--Lovren--Klavan---Moreno

--Wijnaldum-Henderson-Grujic

Oxlade----Sturridge-----Coutinho
