I think most of us have a bit of history there. Macca's alright though...certainly no offence taken.

Has to be to the league given how long it's been. If we'd won a few leagues since 1990 then would be up for debate.

The fact that the nouveau rich so desperately want to win it to legitimise their new found status and the likes of Utd have typically underachieved in the competition just makes it that much more special.

Not at all. We are all entitled to our opinions and just because mine differs from everyone else's doesn't make it wrong, just different and I'm quite comfortable with it.
But a strange post from you nonetheless. That you could bother to take the time to grab a screenshot, convert it, upload it and all to have a little dig. The word 'petty' comes to mind. Not that I'm arsed ! However maybe you are the one feeling a tad silly for bothering with all that now.
It's strange. I picked the league. I've never seen us win the league so don't know how that feels, but I can imagine that it's not really as immediately satisfying as winning a cup, unless it's won on the last day? Usually you know who's going to win the league well before it happens. Someone better placed can tell me differently.

Yes, it would be a very difficult watch. Even if we stormed into a 3-0 lead, this team of ours doesn't exactly make that an insurmountable prospect. So the whole thing would be terrifying.
I could see myself not watching it but at the same time checking the score every minute.

League title is good for two things:-
1) We have not won that thing for like 28 seasons.
2) It would shut the opposition up.
CL Win advantages:-
1) It has all the big clubs of Europe and is seen as the pinnacle of club football competition.
2) It is the competition that attracts the best players to clubs that are regularly competing in it, and there is much more world-wide fame associated with it. If you don't believe me then think about all the global super-stars that joined Leicester after they won the league title ... not many.
3) For us Liverpool FC - it is more important that we do well in the league to just be in this competition - the history of club is associated with this cup more so than the FA cup IMO, and also the main factor that will attract the top players as most are inclined to go for the city lights of London or the Manchester Money. It significantly improves our global brand.

5) As it is a cup competition it is likely we can actually compete against the best in this situation more-so than the league because the league in 95% of circumstances can be really only won by the highest spenders with deep squads that have quality in the first team plus the entire bench.

Not really as the point was also that most young fans would prefer the CL and we aren't exactly a child friendly site are we?
