We vastly overpaid but there has been the odd glimmer of him a decent player. He deserves time in a defined position before we can give a definitive judgement. I'm not overly optimistic but it would a very nice and welcome surprise if he came good this year.

I wouldn't say that, players do not come cheap from Portugal, had we bought him from Partizan for £20m I'd agree with you.
 
Will leave on a free or anywhere around £4 odd million eventually. None of the turkish clubs will touch him and they are known for buying castoffs.

Porto and Benica have done well at selling in the transfer market. That doesn't change the fact we overspent massively. When deciding if a player represents a a good deal the only considerations are the price and his level of talent. Anything else is used to justify stupidity and bad decision making.
 
Will be interesting to see him in pre season. Should get a chance to prove himself but I'm guessing he'll be sold if the right offer comes in.
8-10 mill or something.

Shame he wasnt given a decent chance under Rodgers. We overpaid for him but he's a talented player.
Playing wing back, getting wrongly substituted and then being out of the team for longer periods. Wasnt handled very well.
 
He looked naff on youtube before we bought him, and never demonstrated himself to be better than that. More balls than baller.

Yeah I kinda meant high hopes and all that cause I've expressed my positive thoughts about him so many times its getting repetitive.

I didn't think he looked naff in the clips I saw TBH. He has been a disappointment since, but I'm happy to await Klopp's view on his potential.
 
He's exactly the type of player that Klopp historically improves massively (ie. young, talented, something of a blank slate) and is more emotionally resilient than many give him credit for (else he wouldn't have, when fit, made such an impression on Fenerbache fans on loan as a 21 year old).

I'm going for a big improvement in Lazar this season, just watch Klopp give him confidence and Markovic flourish in a well defined system.

He just looked quick. Lots of galloping from midfield, but little end product, no tricks, no skillz, few assists.

How do we know the Fener fans were so impressed by him? What did he do to earn it in terms of goals and assists? (I'm not denying this, just want to hear the evidence).
 
Alberto's back as well isn't he? It's worth a look at both of them, though I suspect it'll be another case of Pacheco/Tex/Suso, one of them will perform brilliantly throughout preseason, prompting backing from the fans, before they inevitably leave for next to fuck all.
