I watched the Youth Cup game last night. Dalle Valle looks to be a good finisher and poacher but the player who impressed me most was Buchtmann. Looks really comfortable on the ball.

He was the most impressive Liverpool player in both legs of the Youth Final last season as well.

Pity we are overrun with left sided players. The lad will hardly get a chance,

From what I have seen and heard he seems a very good player, though still very young.

Performances and goals don't count for much in the youth and reserve teams. We have seen plenty of supposed great prospects who have done well at that level yet turned out not to be good enough in the first team.

Regarding attitude problems, I don't think he has a bad attitude as such. I think he's just impatient to progress, and thought the route to the first team might be clearer elsewhere, which it probably would be.

Here, I'll clear it up for you... Chamkh scores one goal every 4 games, if we sign him for a tenth of his reported signing on fee great. If not, why not give Pacheco or Dalle Valle a chance on the bench?

As the old saying goes, if your good enough, your old enough... It's been too long since we gave these sort of youngsters a chance to impress on the big stage.

On the same level yet? No, of course not... Why? Because they haven't been given the game time. We keep buying these youngsters to be on the same level as Arsenal, or at least copy their blue-print, yet whilst Wenger is more than happy to blood the likes of Sanchez & Wilshere this season, we never do.

So yeah, i'd prefer we put Dalle Valle or Pacheco on the bench, then an over-priced stiker with a ratio of 1:4... I mean come on Voronin's record is better than that in fucking Germany.

Have you ever really seen a great deal of Chamakh play, or are you simply knee jerk reacting to a tabloid newspaper's report regarding a signing on fee? I'd guess its probably the latter.

In addition LDV is only just back from injury, and Pacheco has been severly hampered by a lack of games (coupled to the fact that he doesnt look like the easiest fit to our current formation).

Suggesting that we should go into next season with a strike force of Torres, Ngog, Pacheco and LDV instead of Torres, Chamakh, Ngog and LDV....hmmm, who's the muppet?

This is hardly lionel messi or iniesta. The guy is just..JUST.... as likely to be a failure as pacheco or dalla valle. Don't kid yourself that because he is "senior" there is some magical halo over his head that will make him play football better than an 18yr old can. That isn't how things work on a football pitch. In fact im sure he's more likely to become a turd than dalla valle is.

The difference is, if he fails we'll be stuck with him, paying him millions a year, we'll send him on loan. and on some heaven sent day we might be able to off load the turd for a nominal fee. if pacheco or dalla valle fail we lose nothing.

Then on top of that, if we keep taking £5-10m punts on these motherfuckers i'm not even sure we won't end up like leeds. It's NOT worth the risk. Not for marion fucking chamuck.

Now Mr V, you're getting yourself all confused, which is easy to understand given that you get incredibly het up by even the most spurious redtop tittle tattle. Where have I said that Chamakh is the second coming? My understanding is that he is technically a very good footballer, but lacks physical presence and has some question marks hanging over his attitude.

I think buying players of this type is arguably one of the toughest jobs in a managers remit nowadays - you cant go in there and say "sign for me son youre going to be a vital member of my side", and "listen lad, if everyone's fit, youre not getting in the starting XI" isnt a particularly sexy sell.

And if you're so concerned about "lightweight" then the jury should most definitley still be out on Pacheco and LDV....
