Lacazette to leave Lyon in the summer. A solution to our striker woes?

"I think it's come, the right moment," he told Canal+.

"I think that this summer will be the time where I will need a change of scenery and discover something else, still with the idea of advancing and progressing in terms of football and as a person.

"I am going to continue to work, in the hope that good opportunities will come this summer."

After scoring 21 goals in Ligue 1 last season, the striker has already bagged 18 this campaign as Lyon lie in fourth place.

We need to go all out to get this player. True striker.

He will go to UTD and we will end up with the next ngog who will be sold to us like he is the next Suarez

I'd take any type of striker right now. As long as they do the 'scoring goals' part of being a striker really well.

Or is that still Divock Origi?

He wouldn't come to us, especially if we don't make champions league. He'd have a bunch of top clubs to pick from in the summer

He basically asked for Barca to sign him.

Pretty sure he will leave in summer, my guess is he'll go to Psg...other than Cavani they're short on strikers.

Wenger is a keen admirer of his abilities too.

But I dont think he's even a target for us.

Fallows and Hunter too busy scouting Redmond and Bertrand

He's better than what we have - but I think the boat has sailed ...

It will be a pain in the arse to negotiate with Aulas for any potential club. I doubt that the ship has sailed but God knows if we are interested or not. He'd be a good replacement for Sturridge though.

What would be the point when, if a success, he would be off to Barca like a rat up a drainpipe. Fucking fed up with being a stop gap for these cunts

What's the alternative? Sign shit players so Barcelona never want them? Nah.

We should want the best clubs interested in our players. We should do better at keeping them by paying them a wage which keeps them loyal and regularly getting in the Champions League.

Well whatever happens we need reinforcements up top this summer but I doubt a player of his proven ability will come to a team battling for CL positions

113 in 254 is what I read. 1 in 10 for France. Still very good but it is the French league. My point is that I don't believe he is so good that he should turn his nose up at the prospect of joining Liverpool.

Benzema had a similar record at his age.

& the stats for national team is a little misleading, he's only started and played the full 90 once.

Doesn't matter what league it is, if you're a natural goalscorer then you can score goals anywhere.

Van nistelrooy, Kluivert, Suarez and RVP all came from worst leagues but they cut in the bigger leagues because they were natural goalscorers.

What about all of the other players who have come from worst (sic) leagues with impressive scoring records, and been utterly shite?

Or were they not 'natural goal scorers' but somehow still scored loads of goals?

Look at that fucking lead-footed clown at Spurs. Top scorer in Eredivisie last season.

There's been plenty of players who have scored loads of goals in shite leagues, but haven't actually been very good

And none of them were proven until they came and proved it in the Premier league. Suarez came to Liverpool, unproven, even though we were out of the CL. Lacazette has proven nothing yet in France so I don't see why he should turn his nose up at playing for Liverpool. That's my point.

This is probably rubbish, a certain newspaper reports we're interested in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, laughably they're saying we'll bid £40m

He's been highly effective in the last 4 years. I wouldn't worrry too much about his record before that.

It's not like we are talking a 1 season wonder
