If the staff payouts are calculated in this amount... then its not really that much.

4 year contracts calculated in a one year payout..

We do have some players that are earning a lot and they should be the ones in the line of fire for not performing.. Torres, Johnson, Gerrard, Cole - around 400,000 pounds a week in wages.

This just looks like another pathetic dig at Rafa.

Where's the shock we have the fourth highest wage bill.... for the vast majority of the last 10 or so years we were in the top four.

According to sabermetrics does this mean because we are twelfth we should therefore cut our wages to a club appropriate to twelfth?

Sell Gerrard and Torres, both on big wages and not playing much try desperately to offload Cole and Johnson and we will be set.

Maybe seeing as he statistically doesnt score any goals we could get rid of Pepe also and gamble on one of the youngsters.

Job done, the figures should look much better after that. Or maybe tailor future contracts so that they are more performance related, no CL no new Aston Martin in the driveway etc....

Oncey is right moaning about what has happened or not before will not improve us now instead of article such as this i would like to see what they intend to do about the state of the club including, woeful manager, weak playing staff, reversing 2 years of selling good players.

Anything else isnt really important to me.

The "shock" is the wage bill has stayed the same as the quality of the squad has deteriorated drastically.

I suppose Aquilani would have been enticed with similar money to the man he replaced as would Cole and Jovanovic cost a hefty amount on free contracts. I'm not surprised tbh, we SHOULD have a high wage bill, the shocker is where we are in the league. Selling 2 of your five best players and age and injury catching up with 2 more is always always going to fuck you up, especially given the situation up top.

Nah, im not surprised nor pissed off, i couldnt give a fuck tbh, footballers earn too much money end of.
