There were defensive shortcomings all over, everyone bar maybe Flano was culpable. That's probably a sign of how open and naive we often were, aswell as a few individual lapses.

Blaming it on single moments/players is just fucking dumb.

There were many, but we were also the beneficiary of high profile mistakes e.g. Kompany when we played City. Its frustrating but it was always going to be a factor in the system we played.

Mignolet vs City makes me sad though... that one save would have won us the league etc etc..

Kolo Toure has confirmed that he has turned down Trabzonspor to stay at Liverpool this season.
The defender was subject to interest from the Turkish top-flight side this summer, with reports yesterday suggested that a fee had been agreed.
The Ivorian, who has won the Premier League with both Arsenal and Manchester City, moved today to state that he has no intention of leaving Anfield for a team from a "lower league". His contract with the Merseyside club expires next summer.
"I am still at Liverpool. I had talks with the coach who clearly indicated that I was part of his plans. It is a privilege to be at Liverpool. I am very happy to wear the shirt of this legendary club,” Kolo told Sport Ivoire.

"I feel good physically. At 33 years of age, I am ready for any challenge. It is because I have been spared from serious injuries during my career. I continue to work hard in training to keep up the momentum, and it is why the coach wants to keep me at Liverpool.

"Trabzonspor are interested in me, but I have expressed my pleasure at being a Liverpool player.

"Yes, it is always a possibility to join a lower league for more playing time, but I am a competitor and I decided to stay at Liverpool. However, the situation can change at any time, but for the moment I am at Liverpool and I want to carry on with the club."
Toure arrived at Anfield last summer after being released by City, but played just 24 matches in all competitions.

I think he just doesn't fancy moving to Trabzon, or playing in the Turkish League. Seems to be leaving the door open for a move to a different club with those statements. Fair enough, I say. We signed a contract with him and he's not obligated to move to a club just to make things convenient for us. I think we probably aren't in a hurry to move him as well, since the sum involved isn't that much. No idea what his weekly wage is though.

I agree. I rather have Toure as a 4th choice centre back and send Ilori and Coates on loan. 4th choice centre back is not gonna get lot of games unless we have major injury crisis.

It still surprises me when black players move there. One or two have had a rough time with racism from far right elements over the years.

If Agger is sold and Ilori (Cardiff ?) and Coates leave on loan then I'm very happy to have Toure stay here at 4th in line. Excellent player to have in those low-profile matches to rest the 1st team duo, an experienced player to come in if we have 2 CBs injured, and a great guy to have around the dressing room with all the youngsters we now have.
